Spring is Near

Rate: 5 Flag

Spring is near at last.  I certainly do not look forward to what the meteorologists are calling a more active spring storm season here in Oklahoma.  But I am so tired of ice and cold.

My mother, my niece and I went out to two different parks, it was a beautiful day.

The posers:  OK this squirrel really was just hanging around letting me take his picture expecting food of course.

IMG_1643_01  IMG_1645_01 You mean I am not getting paid for this!

You get a camera out and especially 6 yo girls become super models.  I finally got a more natural pose but it wasn't easy.  She wanted her hand on her hip, her cheek touching her shoulder, and a big fake smile UGH! hehehe  I wonder why I pretty much stick to the pets? hmmmm

Flowers...

The trees are still pretty bare and some are broken from the ice storms over the last two winters.  It is looking better all the time and I am ready for the sunshine.

Your daughter is adorable! These pictures are great. Love the sunning turtles.

I'm anticipating Spring too. Your flowers are a little further along than mine in Kansas.
Suzn,
She is my niece but thank you very much. We had a nice day.
thanks for taking us along on your walk

Thank you SK. She is my niece, she is 6, and she is a mess. ;o)
Beautiful pics. Living in Western New York, I really, really appreciate Spring. Our bulbs haven't quite bloomed yet, but I expect them any day now! Thanks for the sneak peek.
Thanks Brie, I would like to get out and take more pix but trying to make ends meet is taking up all my time recently.
Great pictures. Are those red-ear sliders? I miss sliders.
Thanks Mer, and yes, at least the two middle ones on the branch with four turtles are red ear sliders. I had to look because I don't know much about them. The ponds around here on sunny days look like this except with many more turtles sunning.
I remember that fondly. Sometimes there are so many that they're sort of wedged on top of each other, which I find really funny. We had two rescue sliders for awhile until we made the decision to move to Portland, then we found good homes for them. They were fun to have around.
