Americans Always Get It Wrong...

Rate: 3 Flag

The train travelling through the European countryside was quite crowded. A uniformed U.S. Marine walked the entire length looking for a seat, but the only seat left was taken by a well dressed, middle-aged, woman's poodle. The war-weary Marine asked, "Ma'am, may I have that seat?"

The woman just sniffed and said to no one in particular "Americans are so rude. My little Fifi is using that seat."

The Marine walked the entire train again, but the only seat left was under that dog. "Please, ma'am. May I sit down? I'm very tired."

She snorted, "Not only are you Americans rude, you are also arrogant!"

This time the Marine didn't say a word; he just picked up the little dog, tossed it out the train window, and sat down.

The woman shrieked, "Someone must defend my honour! this American should be put in his place!"

An English gentleman sitting nearby spoke up, "Sir, you Americans often seem to have a penchant for doing the wrong thing. You hold the fork in the wrong hand. You drive your autos on the wrong side of the road. And now, sir, you seem to have thrown the wrong bitch out of the window....

Very true- the poodle was the innocent in all of this.

What i have noticed about these suave-ass europeans is
that they live to be snarky to us rough hewn americans.

the marine meets his final (let us hope ) enemy: a damn dog!

@James,

You said......

Europeans have no problem with "rough hewn anyone" and have as many such in their countries as are in America. Where do you think the "American" ones came from?

But they do dislike the ugly, arrogant, ill-educated, know-it-alls who hail from the US, and go there and try to tell those folks how to live. I don't blame them for that; we Canadians feel the same way about that type of visitor. I'll bet you do too!

Considering the state of the world almost anywhere you look, nobody either knows the right way to live nor knows how to get there. The dog was probably just as tired as the Marine but poodles have little chance against American military might.
