A dream…
As I stood watching from afar
You were on the beach, toes in the cold sand
Facing the sea you stood looking to the setting sun
Your small silhouette piercing the horizon
You sang a song I had not heard before
Yet I knew the words
Your beautiful voice achingly bore the lyrics
That told a story of loneliness and longing
Of the pain and sorrow from love wasted
The words hung sadly in the ocean mist
I walked toward you but your silhouette grew no larger
Melancholy chained my heart and weighed me down
In desperation I called out and your voice grew silent
You turned and your eyes searched then found mine
My feet found purchase in the sand
You moved in my direction
Standing before each other
I told you my soul knew your song
You told me your heart too had chains
Soothing voices that warm each other
Chains break and fall away
Words freed our spirits and bonded our souls
Our hearts beat in joyful harmony
Our love sang a new song
Our lives began anew ~
I promise you will never sing that sad song again
You smile and say you no longer know the words

This last line is electric. Your poetry is a perpetual caress and assurance - vows spoken in verse...and answered with love.
