A Journey By Proxy in 101 words

Rate: 16 Flag

I took a package to the post office. I’d wrapped it up the night before; a book, a small pendent, a t-shirt to be savored, a hand-drawn card with some private thoughts, all surrounded by bubble wrap to keep things from shifting. I taped the box closed tightly, not wanting its contents to be revealed prematurely. I stuck the address label on with its destination written in my scrawl.

Arriving at the post office, my charge was given to the woman behind the counter beginning its long journey. As I drove home, I secretly wished I was in that box, too.

Awwww......sweetie! I wish you were in those boxes, too! I love the T-shirts...but it's not the same as you. I love the cards you draw and flowers you send (how on earth do they make it so flawlessly?). Hey, wait! If they can make the trip - why can't you? Hop in next time, 'K?

Lovely, romantic 101 words, darling. And I wrote about allergies.
:-O
Awwww...
Sweet as warm maple syrup over pancakes.
:-)
Smithery...I have been called a true romantic and I'm guilty as charged. And it takes one to know one...well done, sir, well done. xox
I know the feeling, even after lo, these many years, of forced separation and how packages and letters don't fill the void. You've evoked it well.
OM ~ Thanks sweetheart! Well, I can't fit into those boxes, but I would if I could. I'll look into something larger next time...
s_m - Mmm...that sounds good. The thought makes me hungry!

Robin - Thank you my dear. I do have a pretty wide romantic streak running through me.

Boanerges - No, they don't quite fill the void, that's true. But I do love sending and receiving when it's the only alternative. Thank you.

Cindy - Thank you. Secret? I did need that 101st word and it is a thought I have to myself as I'm driving away. It's certainly no secret now!
lorianne - sorry! I didn't see you at first. Welcome and thank you very much for reading.
LOVED this one!

Awww . . . that's just cool!
Aaah. Romance. How beautiful.
Lezlie
No wonder she likes you so much. :)
so perfect, so you, smithery.
Sorry I'm just now getting back to everyone; it's been a busy afternoon.

Ellen – Why thank you!

Owl - you’re just so cool for dropping by.

Lezlie – Romance is where it’s at. Thank you.

Sweetfeet – That is a two way street!

Candace – She makes it so easy to be me. Thank you for your kind words.

Cindy – Couldn’t hurt! What are you going to reveal??

Muse – Aww, thanks :)
Love this!!! What a romantic you are. :-)
~R~
UnB - Yeah, I kinda am. Thank you!

Kathy - I'm glad you liked it!
I wish you could have been in the box too for Outside Myself. You are a darling man, I mean that in a most masculine way!
Ll2 - You are very sweet...yes, I wish I was in one of those boxes, too. Every time I send one.
Special delivery...very nice.
B-EG - Welcome! Thank you so much for reading.
I was going to say I knew where the box was going, but OM told.
Very romantic, my friend, rated.
Thoth - I'm on a first name basis with the local post office employees. Thank you for stopping by and for the kind words my friend.
Smithery: While I seem to be behind here, I thought I'd comment, especially in light of the gentleness with which you handle OM's latest "dustup" difficulty.
This is a dear rendering from a heart so big its package can't be sent as a shipped package. Only you can deliver such a feeling to the rightful place.
Peace to you and your lady. -R-
Poor Woman - Thank you so much for reading and for your thoughtful words. Peace to you as well.
If you ever do decide to do that...don't forget to poke holes in the box for air...arriving dead would totally screw up the romance.

Rated.
Andy - That sir, is good advice. And very hard to argue with ;)
I hope you two get together. Living with someone you love is a real treat. And I can definitely see a movie from all this. Thanks for being so real.
