Aside from a few comments here and there, I haven't been on OS very much recently for no reason other than life is busy and I just have not had the time.
But today I shall make time, for it has been two years today that I first corresponded with a woman who quickly came to be so much more than an OS friend.
Today is the day Outside Myself (Angela) and I mark as our anniversary. Two years ago today she and I first exchanged pm's regarding a post someone else had written (Verbal Remedy, who herself is pretty scarce around here these days).
During the days and weeks that followed, we continued to correspond and, well, the friendship that started here soon blossomed into so much more. A little more than 3 months after we "met" here on OS, Angela flew from her home on the west coast to visit me here on the east coast. Since then we have been able to visit every few months but someday those visits will end...because it will no longer be necessary to travel to see each other. When that someday arrives we will be in our own home together.
I have written on these pages at great length about the love Angela and I share, and I can tell you that everything I've ever written about my feelings for her and our love is still true, with one important exception:
I love her more now than ever.
She is truly one of a kind and I count myself as the luckiest man on earth for having her love. She is an amazing woman and I will love her passionately for the rest of my days.
Thank you, Angela, for making this day and every day so incredibly special.
I love you.

If Ya be spouse-partners for sixty years
All total - Angela has one good dinner
Ya can estimate one 4th of July picnic
Wishing YA TWO a one night stands
Never allow the sun to set at night
`
IF YA TWO are mad as hell angry
That's the secret to bliss on earth
IF YA TWO stay up for six moons
Sun still come up ` gin tomorrow
You may lose sleep`gin arguing?
Remain awake in bed`gin kissing.
Never let the sun go down upon
anger. No sleep if your in a spat
and make up and out with a gal
You must sip a 1/2 gal jug too?
I get no cooks, monies, honey,
and I can't recall if I'm married.
If I was wed - all total - 3- booms!
My children assume I was aroused.
I was in bed with spouse 3- mights.
If 3- youngsters came to the Earth?
I can't recall - How did they get here?
I forgot if I go Boom Boom Boom 3 X's.
Thankfully my Mind has not broke yet.
My eye spectacles were on my forehead.
Annabella is seven. We go to the fireworks.
Lewis is Two. Ma and Pa Boom Boom 2 X's.
My son ask me to go hear The Boom Boom.
I guess it's better than a trip to DC sex shop.
Those rubber or titanium doll seem goofy.
I've no wing to blow up a Lady GaGa doll.
I'll stuff chew-tobacco in my two deaf ears.
I hope I no crawl under bamboo bush too.
My post natural body trauma will explode.
If I'm never seem `gin I'l wave from moon.
The rural town is having fireworks. Oh My.
The picnic already began. I shine my boots.
The Jazz Blues can be heard two miles away.
I guess I will go get a bowl of dumpling stew.
I may roll up in a fetal ball with a mule burro.
The town does celebrate. This will be memory.
Believe Ya me. I
`d not be there if
I had no children
grand kid or soup.
Congrats to Ya`all.

I yearn a peace one.
You made me giddy.
I rejoice on the 3rd.
That's all.. just :)
Rated for ain't no mountain high enough..
If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only. Do not say
'I love her for her smile--her look--her way
Of speaking gently,--for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day'--
For these things in themselves, Beloved, may
Be changed, or change for thee,--and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheeks dry,--
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby !
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou mayst love on, through love's eternity.
-- Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Or something like that. Happy Anniversary.
I send you both, people I have been so lucky to meet in real life, my love and respect for all you give and share with the world. Your love serves us all well.
xo
lshmoopie, welcome. Of course I can't help but agree.
mission, so good to see you. It is, and continues to be, a wonderful dream.
trilogy, it's good to be here. Wish I could be here more often. I will try. Thank you.
Little Kate, Angela and I both love OS for obvious reasons and also for the people on here, yourself included. Our story began here so we are happy to share it with our OS friends. I'm glad we've made your heart smile; our hearts are smiling too.
Ll2, oh yes, love does indeed still happen and often when you least expect it. Thank you for being a good friend and remember to keep your heart open.
Seer, :) back at you! I will update that profile.
Stim, yes; something like that indeed. I do and I will, but can't I love her for her smile, too? It is so lovely...
emma, we do feel very lucky to have been given such a rare gift. We will be living under the same roof some day.
But please don't think me strange,
I've undergone a change,
And today I love you even more.
My heart cannot be trusted,
I give you fair warning.
I openly confess,
Tonight I love you less
Than I will tomorrow morning.
(It's from "Once Upon a Mattress," but I think it works for you guys.)
Congratulations, Barry and Angela!
JustCathy, you are so funny! Believe me, this is not all for naught. Angela and I are both well aware that what we have together is a rare and special gift. But I do very much appreciate what you've said here and on Angela's post. I'll send you a pm.
janie, hi! I hope you are well; I've been following your blog and wish you all the best. Thank you for being here. The picture is from our first visit together, taken at Inner Harbor in Baltimore.
jali, welcome. We are and will keep smiling; no doubt about it. Thank you.
