Not long ago, I discovered a visual artist whose work I adore. This doesn't happen often. Music, yes. Art, not so much. Michelangelo, Monet, Renoir; those are my guys, and I discovered their work long ago.
But here was someone new. New-ish, at any rate; he's been painting for more than 40 years. And lives in my urban neighborhood.
However, nowhere in metro Boston could I find an exhibit of his work. The following week, I expanded my search, leaving out any mention of geography. And found one current installation. In Vermont. Hmmm.
Figured surely I could drive a bit out of my way going to, or from, the house. Can you guess what's coming? Turns out the exhibit is right here in my tiny adopted town. Weird.

There is NO such thing as coincidence, S. :-D
I echo Lisa's sentiments. We will expect a full report when you come back. ;-D
The gallery held three paintings. One, I have a newspaper copy of on my fridge. I'll tell you: It looks even better in person! :-D Oh, and the price? $32,000. As I left, it occurred to me that the best things in life aren't free at all!
Annette: I missed the reception by about 10 days. Don't know whether the artist attended. (The show features 3 or 4.) But it would have been funny had we met there, seeing as we both live in the same town, 3 and a half hours away. That's so often the way it goes.
