Good Friday

On this day, in childhood
We'd live again the suffering
And all the blood and stumbling
And punishment of crowds
Complete with crown of thorns.
And we would cry, imagining
How could anyone could do that to Our Lord.

He said he came as one of us
And spoke of love and told the people
We must change our lives. For that he died.
And now, I think, what difference did it make?
Human cruelty lives on. Our very Earth is under seige.
I don't want to seem ungrateful on Good Friday, but
I don't know what it means.

Sad but true. So should I say Happy Easter or Hopeful Easter?
We clearly have more work to do....
When gods are powerless to change things it's time for men to take matters into their own hands.......

.........and gods are ALWAYS powerless even if their minions are not.

I think you give voice to what many of us ask and I don't pretend to have the answer ... but for me it is a wake up call of sorts ... with the new day we each have the opportunity to make a difference.
Ah you must patake in the bun...Hot Cross...bun.
PARTAKE I meant...It's spring man and Eoestra is full.
I like the simple questioning of this poem.
Thanks, Lea. How about wishing you Happiness and Hope.
