2 Years Ago I Had Cancer, I Dont Anymore :)
Two years ago I had cancer, breast cancer. I don’t anymore.
It’s true that I changed my eating habits, less pizza, spaghetti & chili, more fresh fruit, veggies & lean meats. It’s true that I got back to exercising, specifically running, once I was well eno… Read full post »
Be You....Even If You Look Like Ronald McDonald
If a girl who looks like Ronald McDonald can feel fabulous...then honey, so...can...you!
My whole life Ive had....hmmm, hair...big hair, crazy hair, out of the picture hair, you know the kind that gets cut off in pictures because its actually outside of the frame. Yes, thats me. And though I wa… Read full post »
Honoring One of Our Own Bloggers
This is an opportunity to honor an unsung hero on Open Salon...he provides that secret little voice, or rather that big masculine, manly voice (he would probably prefer that) that feels like a lighthouse on a stormy night, a security blanket to a little kid, or just that virutual dad that always… Read full post »
Another Rig Exploded...How Can We Help?
Did you know that another oil rig exploded Near Louisiana yesterday? I felt sad for the fish, the dolphins, the sea life the last time, what about you? I wanted to help but didnt know how. We cant fix a rig, but we can start respecting mother nature more...clearly we're not… Read full post »
A Message of Hope - From a Cricket
I just woke up because I couldn’t breathe due to a cold.
Isnt it wonderful how God can and will speak if you listen, tune in?!?
God sends us messages every day.
The windows were open and I could hear a small cricket louder than the rest.
And I felt/heard/learned:
/…Stop!........When it Feels Like Too Much
Today I woke up with thoughts of work in my head. I stumbled to the bathroom just to blow my nose and I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I felt a bit down about the slow progress I've been making toward getting in shape.
And it just seemed to snowball… Read full post »
Disappointments Are Like Bumper Bowling
Everyone has had disappointments. A woman at my job recently interviewed for a different position that she really wanted and needed. She didnt get it. Its easy to see that she's now in a slump. She's down and she's lost motivation.
The same thing happened to… Read full post »
A Tribute to Husbands & Boyfriends Everywhere!
So often we women complain, get frustrated and vent about "our men,our men" or the lack of good men. But..............
We women can be difficult, and a little demanding. Im the first to admit that Im not perfect. Im a boatload of fun, and when I love...I love....I give my 110%… Read full post »
Wake Up Excited (not what you think)
I didnt choose that title for the racy factor, Im referring to how I feel this morning. Its been a long time. You see ,I really did go from just under 6 figures to $6.25/hour or just a bit more as a telemarketer/phone salesperson. Clearly I (and many of you), have… Read full post »
Giving Honor to YOU Bloggers
When is the last time you recognized someone around you? Sure you may catch a vaps (caribbean word for strong and momentary rush to do something) and call a family member to say "I love you." But when is the last time you told a perfect stranger, "hey nice hairdo" or " thanks… Read full post »
A Message from Puppy: Watch Don’t Bark
I have a 110lb Rottweiler named Puppy, who is a house dog. Hey, he’s my puppy?!? Clearly, Im not too creative in the names dept. Anyway, I also have glass French doors. Needless to say, it’s not a great idea for this dog to jump on the doors and bark like/… Read full post »
Joy Is Possible: Lesson 2 - Listen
Everyone has a meltdown once in a while. Yes, even the queen of positive (or maybe just the princess, Im really not that good) has her days. Yesterday was my day to lose it. I was just tired of my financial situation, of my truly pitiful job, and when you mix… Read full post »
Joy is Possible - Lesson 1 - Make God Your Homey
Joy is possible, in all times, at all times, for anyone. You may not believe it yet, but YOU can feel joy even when your car A/C breaks, and you arrive sweaty and windblown every where you go. Joy is possible when your clothes are 2 sizes too small, and you cant… Read full post »
No Tomorrow???
Its already 9:24 pm at night. In the 3.5 hours since I left work, Ive cooked dinner, walked a dog, fed cats, done a load of laundry, straightened up, returned phone calls and I cant remember what else. If you have kids youve probably done more. I give you all respect… Read full post »

Making a Commitment
