Bio
In my avatar pic I am holding someone's pet skunk somewhere in Oklahoma when I was four. I guess I have always been an accepting type of girl. • It is all about trying. Sometimes laughter is the only medicine. I am often, as I like to say, creatively confused. Although I am what some would describe as accomplished, I want to be a better being. I love as I try. • My work posted here is of course copyright Natalie K. Munden. • Oh, and did you know that some people take drugs in order to experience vertigo ON PURPOSE?

Barrow, Alaska Visitor's guide

I lived in Barrow, Alaska for seven years and have been up there several times since.  If you are going to go somewhere, it might as well be to the top, right? Three hundred fifty miles above the arctic circle, that's Barrow.

Enjoy -- Natalie

Excellent job, Natalie ! So this is what kept you away and busy. I downloaded the guide to look at it closer later. I don't know if I'll ever make it to Alaska though. It's great to have you back. Oh, by the way. . . this is one post where the author tags are longer than the post itself. Thought that was note worthy. How's Maraj? Rated.
Barrow Alaska sounds pretty darn good right about now!
Fusan: Thank you! I hope you enjoy reading the guide. The PDF has three pages. A lot of people were involved of course. Yes, I got carried away with the tags, but a lot goes on in Barrow! :-)

Oh and Maraj is just fine, but I have bronchitis. Ugh! I am taking medication and had chicken soup for lunch. Trying to stay hydrated. It is so easy to forget to drink water...
Tink: Yay! It seems I can always count on you. Thanks for stopping by!
Brrrrrrrr...Rabbit. Cold, dark and breathtaking.
Very professional job, Natalie. I'd love to go to Barrow. I have a photo of my mother and one of her friends standing at the edge of the tundra in Barrow. She was adventerous.

John Straley, who lives in Sitka, wrote a series of detective novels based in Alaska. His first novel, The Woman Who Married a Bear, won the Shamus Award for a first novel in 1993. If you're not familiar with him, and are interested, you can find his website here: John Straley.
rainee174: Thanks for the read and the comment. Brr.. is right. The coldest day I remember in Barrow was, with the wind chill, -110. I was dressed as well for it as possible though!

ClarkK: I have walked on the frozen Chukchi Sea and the frozen Mississippi River. Even the idea of walking on "frozen" power fun, although the ice is never quite still. Thanks for the read and the comments. I will check out the work of the author you mentioned!
