Bio
In my avatar pic I am holding someone's pet skunk somewhere in Oklahoma when I was four. I guess I have always been an accepting type of girl. • It is all about trying. Sometimes laughter is the only medicine. I am often, as I like to say, creatively confused. Although I am what some would describe as accomplished, I want to be a better being. I love as I try. • My work posted here is of course copyright Natalie K. Munden. • Oh, and did you know that some people take drugs in order to experience vertigo ON PURPOSE?

Twelve Things You Don't Know About Me - Part One

Rate: 8 Flag

I have not had time to write. I have been reading and commenting as much as possible, but not writing. Busy, busy. Thankfully, Fusun especially, has not given up on me!

It is late. I just sat down and learned about the Open Call for 12 Random Facts You Don’t Know About Me.  How can I not participate! I must try!

#1          The first time my sister and I traveled on an airplane without our parents, I was age five and my sister was three and a half. To the airline, we were 8 and 6. We had a plan, snacks, coloring books – and I remember feeling a bit annoyed by what I felt were overprotective flight attendants who kept asking us if we were okay.

#2           My mother never saved any of the letters I wrote to Santa Claus because I insisted on accompanying her to the post box so I knew for certain my letter was sent.

#3          After watching kid after kid go off a the high dive at a college swimming pool, I got out of the water, quickly walked to the ladder, climbed up, walked on the diving board and dove into the water. It was beautiful. I thought I should do it again while I was still feeling brave, but I did not execute the second dive with as much grace. I hit the water flat on my back. A lifeguard asked if I needed help. I couldn’t respond because the air had been knocked out of me. I was doing my best to relax and float. I guess the lifeguard did not want to get her swimsuit wet.

#4          When watching the movie Jaws in 1975, I jumped so high when Ben Gardner’s dead head appeared in the destroyed hull of the Orca, I landed on the arm off my theater seat.

#5          An ill-fated visit to a hair salon for a permanent resulted in my head looking conspicuously square for a week.

#6          For my first sewing project in home economics class, I chose to make a formal gown. What was I THINKING?

And so we come to the end of part one.

Jaws had the same effect on me as well....
I spent years designing and making formals, so # 6 makes me laugh.
What "were" you thinking? :)
You can't leave us hanging like this, brave Natalie, you simply can't! Your skepticism of the Santa Claus mystery at that tender age is charming, but now I'll bet you wish you'd been a tad more trusting.
I can hardly wait for Part 2, and honestly, what were you thinking for #6, my dear? Maybe you had a bit of Maraj in you back then, and you didn't know it. :o) ~R
These are funny...love #6 !
Algis: For many years I even thought about Jaws when in a swimming pool! I saw a tree frog just out of the corner of my eye one time. It was a tiny tree frog but I "saw" a dark THING in the water and it freaked me out! Thanks for coming by.

Fay: I have always been able to come up with grand ideas... This one was awful!

Matt: I did not doubt Santa Claus. Every year I simply wanted to ensure that my mother mailed my letter!

Fusun: The worst of it is, I picked SATIN fabric in periwinkle!

Just Thinking: You too? Do you sew now?

Jane: Having a square head is a real drag!! LOL

Thanks for coming by and commenting!
