I used to care very much about being a good Republican, but I don't know what that means anymore. I now focus my energies on the politics of Animal Welfare. I volunteer. I organize fund raisers. I do my best to raise awareness about cruelty, gay penguins, stupid people who keep wild animals as pets and showing funny cat videos.

So how old is "too old" for a boy to use the women’s room?
Here's a question for the masses:
This Saturday I was entering in the ladies room in a public place, and one of your kind had brought a boy, about my height, into the ladies room.I immediately thought he must have autism or some other severe mental defect.… Read full post »
Naming a little Panda Yun Zi
Over at the San Diego Zoo, they named the baby Yun Zi, or "Sun of Cloud." At this point he's nearly 15 weeks old. Here's a snapshot from the pandacam I took of him this morning as he sleeps on his face with his fluffy butt in the air.
Good looking men in media are ubiquitous, I can think of dozens of them. I concur with other posters about John Stewart and Pierce Brosnan. I agree, that the majority of people on TV or in movies are beautiful. That’s why they are on TV - we all just enjoy looking… Read full post »

Battle Pandas
The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo presents us a red panda battle to the soundtrack from Kill Bill. I commend whomever edited this video for showing us the adorable and ferocious Mei-Mei and Rohan in such a wonderful way.
200 cows and 1 pony bike ride through Arizona
I’m riding down a canal path in suburban Arizona. To my right are little ranchettes, small properties with the occasional horse or llama or goat. To my left is a massive sprawling neighborhood built a few years ago. Everything on the left is stucco and sterile. Occasionally everything on… Read full post »
Man Bites Bear
So I recently watched Alaska Troopers on National Geographic, in the episode I saw I was markedly impressed with two things - beautiful scenery and bear hunting.
Now I can understand why people are scared of bears. Bears are big, they will rip your face off even if you love them… Read full post »
Monkey Monday and the Marmosets
Marmosets are the tiniest primates, mostly orginating out of South America. These awesome little guys are considered New World Monkeys, with prehensile tails. Above we see dad carrying his twins.
Because it's Monday, it's a fine time to share the most absurd Marmoset vide… Read full post »
Hungry Kitten : Animal Welfare in a depressed economy
This kitten has something relatively important to show us.
He's hungry (and totally insane.)
Here are some observations I have made over the past year, from both my personal life and from various news sources. Recently I spent some time with a local rescue group… Read full post »
Don't Mess with Alaska
"What do you think makes being a State Trooper more challenging in Alaska?"
Being attacked by bears while dealing with meth-heads.

Palm Beach Sugar Daddy Ken Doll
Our friends over at toplessrobot.com have broken the news story of the day (well maybe). Palm Beach Sugar Daddy Ken Doll

He's wearing white shoes and has a horribly tiny dog. I imagine he met his Barbie on the Casual Encounters section of Craigslist. His post… Read full post »

Pleasing kittens across the country, LOLcat Simon, finally gets cheeseburger.

Candy Orgy 2009
Everywhere I go I am confronted by bite-sized pieces of candy. The wrappers in my bag evidence that I'm an active participant in this year's Halloween Candy Orgy. I understand it’s only October 7th, but every store I enter has a lot of these on sale.

I be perfectly… Read full post »
Supreme Court Weighs in on Depictions of Animal Cruelty
Today I saw the following on Digg:
http://www.newsweek.com/id/216740
The part of the article I found most compelling was:
"If the Supreme Court overturns the circuit-court decision and
upholds the law, depictions of animal cruelty will join the ranks
of child pornography, obscenity, defamatory speech, a… Read full post »

Fuck you Florida: or why I may switch parties out of shame
Now I've had it. I just read this, and have become livid. The President is giving a speech on education to the children of this country. This is a good thing, really we need to focus on our schools across the country.

Nagged out of love?
I can remember a time long before we married when he didn't openly criticize every little thing I did, and I loved him.
Then there was:
"Do you have to do that?" and
"Why can't you?" and
"Wear the black pants" and
"That's not how" and
