Now I've had it. I just read this, and have become livid. The President is giving a speech on education to the children of this country. This is a good thing, really we need to focus on our schools across the country.

But Jim Greer, the chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, came out swinging against the planned speech. An excerpt from his statement:
"The address scheduled for September 8, 2009, does not allow for healthy debate on the President's agenda, but rather obligates the youngest children in our public school system to agree with our President's initiatives or be ostracized by their teachers and classmates."
Why the fuck would little school kids debate the President's agenda? This speech is to encourage kids to be good students and graduate. It's wonderful the President thinks this is important enough to address, and I think it's lovely that he's written a speech for children.
I guess it's time to switch parties, this IMO is the height of ridiculousness.
