Your average inconsistent X'er I used to care very much about being a good Republican, but I don't know what that means anymore. I now focus my energies on writing about growing up, the politics of Animal Welfare. I volunteer. I organize fund raisers. I do my best to raise awareness about cruelty, gay penguins, stupid people who keep wild animals as pets and showing funny cat videos. I also write extensively about my family who would probably laugh about this blog, then choke me (but not hard enough for it to be a felony). Fluffy is going to die today

Rate: 3 Flag
Fluffy was never a good dog that anyone remembers. He was adopted at about 6 months, and no one has a clue how he was treated in his early life. Everyone wonders.

She was totally in love with him, big goofy ears and sad eyes. He did stupid puppy things. She took him to obedience school and eventually he sort of learned to walk on a leash.

The day she brought him home, he immediately attacked the couch, the first victim of his occasional outbursts. He destroyed a flat screen TV, the living room carpet and all of the patio furniture.

Her response "Just things."

He went back to obedience school. She thought it would help.

He killed birds and squirrels. He ran around so fast and furiously that occasionally he would hit his head. He leaped into a thicket of bougainvillea and needed to be rescued.

Then he tried to bite a little boy who grabbed his tail. More obedience school. She took him to an Animal Behaviorist, she tried to find new ways to calm him.

He barked furiously at other dogs, and considered the dog park his personal Colosseum where he pitted himself like a lion against all of the other dogs. He bit a weener dog, but not too hard.

Loud noises spooked him. If scared he would scratch and bite her. She said "it's just puppy bites" even though at the time he was one and a half. Her arms were frequently marred with new and old scars.

Everyday she told stories about silly things he did. Her phone was filled with pictures of him. She posted dozens of photos on Facebook.

That evening she dropped a can of soda on the tile floor of her kitchen, POW. He attacked her so viciously that she fled the house. He was enraged and she needed stitches.

Her friend came many hours later with a truck, a crate and a gun. He was Fluffy again, with sad eyes wanting dinner. They took him to an acquaintance of mine, who takes animals and lets them run wild and free on a ranch. After a few hours, she went to pet him and he bit her hard on the arm and wouldn't let go.

Fluffy is going to die at 1 PM today.  He kind of looked like this:

I am so sorry - sometimes caring very deeply about a dog, and lavishing love and care upon them, is just not enough to repair the damage. Letting go is the right thing to do, and given poor Scooby's tendencies for biting humans and other dogs ... probably the most humane option available to you.
This is so sad, I had two pitbulls, one from puppyhood and the other was a resuce from an asshole that wanted her to fight. Angel was terrified of loud noises, but she never bit. I bet Scooby was used as a fighting dog before he was adopted.
Punks like pits and rotties, they treat them horribly so they'll be mean and then they can "look tough" to their asshole friends. The punks should be put down, not the poor dogs.
Poor Scooby, I'm so sorry for his passing.
We all think he was born at a dog fighting puppy mill, but no one knows for sure... it's all very sad
I am sorry for your loss.
