Epic Cycle of Scientists

In ancient times, the theme of epic cycles of national narratives, related tales of warriors defeating the enemy, prophets revealing divine wisdom of better behavior, kings maintaining order in society, heroes rescuing girls from oppression to find romantic love, and now average people struggling to survive.

I am writing an epic about scientists, men and women who delved into mysteries of life and discovered simple truths that provide facts like bricks for each new generation of scientists to build a grand temple of knowledge. What agony of invention lead them to investigate the world and reveal secrets that help us build a better world for everyone to live quality lives of creative production and pleasure.

I am writing an epic cycle of scientists discovering truth so we all see the real world, and treat each other with love and respect.

There is no doubt that the scientific search for understanding the general principles which drive the fundamental processes of the universe is a worthwhile activity that might, hopefully, dispel the total legendary nonsense that underlies much of human agenda. But discovering these processes is one thing, utilizing them for general human benefit is another thing altogether and the largest financial outlays are currently in the area of manipulating and controlling these processes for greed and destruction of whatever is left of decent civilized human values. I am not encouraged.
The worst and best that we can imagine happening seem to provide the limits of possibility, so what actually happens glides along in between those extremes. The process of civilization and growth of knowledge the past 10,000 years has had a few bumps and massive violent destructive wars along the way, but tyrants always fail and democratic freedom always prevails.
Your concept of the prevalence of democratic freedom in the view of current and past events indicates rather sharply that you are not up in either current events nor past history.
Sure I am. I am just overly realistically idealistic about the future.

I predict that in about five years we are about to experience a transformation world war that will last for about five years, and then the new global civilization will prevail about 80 years.
Considering the total mess in both the European and US financial systems and the coming pop of the housing bubble in China I would be insane to predict what happens next week. Good luck with your prophesies.
