If you are not already reading The Consumerist you should go give it a look.

consumerist

They are beholding to no one as they are an arm of the Consumer's Union, the same organization that publishes Consumer Reports. The screen shot above shows their take on the recent Facebook controversy. Sound familiar to anyone?

Now that Open Salon has become completely unnavigable, too many people are missing out on the artistry of that cool cat, Caruso Wegie. Click on the link and see what subversive offering he has dropped at our feet today. Or, should you wish to begin at the beginning of his latest story line, you will want to click on this link.

Enjoy!

Best BlogP*** I've seen in a long time.
Heh heh. Thank you VR.
Madness. It's all madness I tell you! hehehehe... thanks for Caruso's link. Too much stuff here... no way to keep up! :)
Goooood kitty!

(thumbified for community spirit)
I keep the up kitty and others via RSS. No way to do it on here. Thanks, Susan.
Do feel free to discuss the message in the illustration from The Consumerist. Because, you know, Facebook was so busted on that one. How come the kids are so much savvier than grownups on this issue?
"Forum admin (insert name of any voice in the wilderness OSer) went through the 27 pages of feedback and pulled out the three major areas the community seemed most concerned about."

Overlords declared "OS is not a community" and shitcanned the feed back. QED

WOOF
C-cubed, I believe that quite accurately sums up the management position.

I'm always amazed at how blind people are to the shortcomings of people/organizations/groups if they share similar politics. Is this just a leftie thing or do the right-wingers go in for similar myopias?
Great links all - and the "Diggs" went up since your screen capture at Consumerist. In the nightclub business "exposure" is the filthiest scam there is. Owner gets a free band for the night. So we're trading "exposure" for converting our copyrighted materials into "works for hire?" Geesh!
Susan you are without a doubt my hero of the month.
Thank you so much for this.

Sheared - heh!
What's that Stacey? You can't pay the rent with "exposure"? Maybe we could all offer the utility company some "good publicity" in exchange for free power.

Caruso dear, I hoped this would make you purr ;)
M. Chariot, I assume that is how the refined European sheep bleat?
Thought I would give this a feed bump. Just for the hell of it.
A client told me about this website a while back. They can be highly entertaining.
I find it very entertaining--and I really think they are getting enough exposure to start having some influence on consumer issues.
