Happy Birthday, with Dinosaurs

Rate: 10 Flag

The feathered dinosaurs heard that your birthday commences in just a few short hours.

They send their best wishes, or at least their loudest ones. It can be hard to tell.

We all hope you have a nice birthday cake. I'm sure a certain troll also hopes that you will have cake. Or rather, CAKE! Bilbeaux wants in on the action, too. He carries his own spoon around just in case.

I think they are all gearing up for a sort of bird version of "Happy Birthday to Yooooou", although it will probably look more like "Time Warp" from Rocky Horror. But it's the thought that counts, right?

Yay! Another Happy Birthday, Barry card. This is fabulous, Susan! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BARRY!
an embarrassment of riches. xoxo

thank you Susan! That Billbeaux is so smart!

I love that comororant (?) too, gorgeous patterns on the wings.
Maybe we can keep this cake out of the rain.
Barry,

You are a lucky man with all these celebrations and tributes coming your way. After all, you're a Taurus so deserving I'm sure.

You don't really know me, but Happy Birthday, none the less.
Lookit, shuairen shuairen has some gift suggestions.
Dammit! shuairen shuairen was supposed to keep that a secret. Oh, well. Now you know what you're getting for your birthday, Barry. I hope the handbags match your shoes.

We all thought that this was some kind of cormorant, especially since we usually see it holding its wings out, drying them, like a Cormorant does. But it is an Anhinga. The Anhinga has those groovy wing markings while Cormorants are more solid colored.

Another Fun Fact™ about the Anhinga--it's nickname is the "snake bird" because it swims with its body UNDER the water and just its head on that long neck poking up. We saw one swimming like that and I swore it was the Bayou Ness Monster :)
Freaky, I sure hope so 'cause I don't think that I can take it. It took so long to bake it. And I'll never have that recipe again. Oh no.

Ohhhhhh nooooooooooo...
A celebration of birds!
more beautiful pictures! Happy Birthday Barry :)
Even though birds freak me out, I'll roll with it.

Happy Birthday you ol' dog. You're one of a kind and I'm proud to call you my friend.
These are a fitting tribute and celebration. Honor the master with the masterful. I'm just blown away.
It's always fitting to toast Barry with photography, isn't it?
And Susan - Happy birthday!
Happy Birdday To You!
Happy Birthdays forever.....and beyond1
Love you!

I doubt very seriously that you are over-estimating your talent, Cindy! One of the things I love about the high-quality cameras that are accessible to us amateurs now is that it helps someone with a good eye, but less than stellar technical skills, capture what we see. I'd love to see some of your photos :)
