Just for Fun: Mark Trost’s BS Free 25 Meme

Rate: 6 Flag

1. Lingerie & pajamas. Bullshit. What do you really sleep in?

Jammies.  I'd freeze in my sleep with the scant number of blankets my naked husband likes.

2. What’s the one thing in your refrigerator you’re goddamned angry about if someone touches it?

This one just doesn't happen when it's just Dan & I.  Sometimes visitors help themselves to some ingredient that was meant for dinner...but I don't get mad, I get someone to go pick more up.

3. What’s the one thing you do so well that when you’ve done it, you stand back and say, “YES!”

Bake.

4. What’s your one piece of clothing that you want to wear everyday and you would if you could and not get stared at?

Nice pajamas.  Warm ones in Fall, Winter & Spring, and floaty cool ones in Summer.

5. What scares the shit out of you?

It already happened and I survived.  Not much fear in me other than edges.

6. What is your favorite physical feature? The one you look at and think, “damn, that’s good!”

I like my hands, they're graceful and strong.

7. Have you ever actually read the Bible?

Yes. So what.

8. Who is the most overrated celebrity / personality / politician / human being to ever walk earth?

John McCain.  He didn't invent courage, patriotism or for that matter, honesty and respect for others.

9. What is your favorite physical activity?

I live in my head.

10. What is the worst concert you’ve ever seen? And folks, if you can name more than one - rethink your definition of worst. Worst. Go.

Elton John.  He was in fine voice, but the show was lame and the audience seemed a swarming  gaggle of maggots.  Never went to a concert that big ever again.

11. You control the world’s radio station for the length of one song. (One song for God’s sake. One. Draw your line.) What tune do you play?

"White Bird"  It's a Beautiful Day.  Here's a link to the recorded version on YouTube:  White Bird

12. First kiss. Yeah, we know your Mother kissed your head. We get all that. First real - OMG that shook my knees - kiss. You tasted - you wanted more.

At 14 I went to a drive in movie with Billy Knight to see "A Hard Day's Night."  He kissed me.  It made me really, really nervous.

13. You can have anything to drink on earth. What one beverage is your favorite?

Nonfat Latte made by my beloved.

14. What film do you love so much that when you view it you follow the dialogue in your head?

"King of Hearts" or possibly "Harold & Maude."

15. Okay. You’re damn tired. It’s been a long day. You want to go to bed but you don’t have any sheets on it. Do you make it? Or throw yourself on it?

Dan makes it.

16. Who is the funniest person ever?

Maya Rudolph.

17. If you could have one more look at a person, who would you choose?

My Grandpa.  It makes my eyes squirt to think of him and how long I've missed him.

18. There are no health issues: no diabetes, no cholesterol, no high blood pressure. We don’t have to gnaw fiber. You can eat what you want without consequence. What’s for breakfast?

BLT on sourdough.

19. Yeah. You can have him/her and there are no consequences. Who? Who is your ideal partner?

I won't say.  I am still married you know.

20. What is your deal breaker in a friendship (not a romantic relationship)?

Meanness.

21. If you could effortlessly change one aspect of yourself, what would you choose?

I wouldn’t have weight issues ever.

22. If you can banish one thing from the earth - what would you chose? And come on - let’s let beauty pageant contestants handle hatred, poverty, and racism. What one thing do you want removed without consequence?

Sarcasm. It solves nothing and hurts everyone. Sarcasm is the weapon of the envious.  I think that Mark was right about this, so I'm going with it.

23. What’s the best product? What item do you recommend to people?

Consumer Reports.  You can find out about whatever you need to know to make a good purchase decision.

 24. If you could, would you live on a desert island? In a monastery? Do you like solitude or do you like people surrounding you?

I'm definitely a solitude person, but I am not a big fan of deserts so I'd go with the monastery.

 25. What is your best childhood memory?

My childhood was very difficult, but I can remember a few moments and most of them involved my sweet Grampa, Charlie Cavanagh.  He had his hands on most of my best childhood memories, the ones where there was laughter and expressions of love & affection.

I had to look up your song on youtube and you wouldn't believe how fast my better half popped into the room Thanks, I loved that song. I had forgotten. Great list.
My hubby's friend, Bill, recently played lead guitar on White Bird w/ David & Linda LaFlamme ( David is vocalist/violinist in Its a Beautiful Day). One of my all time favorite songs.
That's Bill on the right .

Very interesting, Susanne. Nice to know you a bit better.
From one "Harold and Maude" fan to another (who also despises "mean"), thank you.
Thanks for coming by everyone. It was kind of fun answering these questions, wasn't it!
#11 - Thanks for the reminder. Beautiful song. haven't heard it in too long.

#4 - I have a beautiful pair of cobalt blue silk pajamas that the participants of one of my leadership courses gave me at the final session, with a card that said "If you wear them, she will come." Sure wish I had more occasions to wear them.
