The prism is an applicatin software that lets users to split web applications out of their browser and run them directoly on threir desktop. The preview version provides an improved desktop integration, expanded options and an auto-update function.
Mozilla has a first beta of Prism 1.0 released, his counterpart to Microsoft Silverlight or Adobe AIR. The software can be web applications into desktop applications to be converted so that they are also without a browser directly to a local system. A service such as Gmail can be achieved directly from the Windows Start menu.
The preview version includes an advanced programming interface, which is a better desktop integration. Fonts, proxy settings and other application-specific options can now be set separately. An auto-update feature is also on board.
