Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Talk and Google Video for Business are no longer in beta. With the finalized versions, Google hopes to make Google Apps more attractive for businesses.

Google has obviously found that the beta label still associated with many of its applications weighed on the confidence of users. The U.S. firm sells its effect in Google Apps to enterprises. But the charm, the price is not enough. Google must also assure the stability of its solutions.

However, the beta label, which tends to linger in the world of Web 2.0, is probably not perceived very positively by the companies. Several software suite Google Apps are now in final version. This is the case of Gmail, Google Calendar, Docs, Talk and Google Video for Business.

The end of the beta mean better availability?

But for Google, the withdrawal of beta suffix does not make its product solutions Pros. The giant of the search and Web services have also explains neat features, for example by adding to the offline messaging, access to Google Apps for the BlackBerry, or a compatibility with Microsoft Outlook.

This leaves more to convince Google users. The price will certainly be an important lever. Google Apps Premier, including Gmail, instant messaging and office automation (word processing and spreadsheets) is marketed $ 50 per year per user.

Google has convinced a few large accounts, including Valeo (even if the company did not wish to provide details of the contract). On the security of the mail, acquired through the acquisition of Postini, Google has as clients of the Lafarge group (40 000 email accounts).

The research specialist faces two challenges. First competition from Microsoft, which enjoys a significant lead over the clients and mail servers. The editor now offers a Web client for Outlook (Outlook Web Access). Another challenge for Google to reassure on its ability to ensure business continuity after several failures profile.
