(I wanted to thank ePriddy for my interview. Her questions were so thoughtful and thought provoking.)
"What's up with the crazy diary people?"
"Oh. One of them did a lovely interview with me. It was so nice."
"An interview? What about?"
"Well mainly about writing and about my feelings on the diary site."
"Anything about me?"
"Of course Mom, I write about you."
"What about me?"
"...ah... Well, it was more about the process I use to write about you."
"The process? You type on your notebook computer with that confusing square that moves the flashing thing. What's to know about the process? What do they type on?"
"Mom, 'process' means how you go about thinking up the story and telling the story."
"What's to think? You write down what I say then you're done."
"It's sad how much that's a correct assessment."
"They should know more about me."
"No, Mom... I don't think..."
"They should write me questions about the things they want to know about me."
"Mom, I'm not sure...."
"It's the least I can do. Tell them they can ask me anything."
"Mom, the problem is I might not want to hear everything."
"Don't be silly. You tell them."
::sigh::

"Hello this is your daughter."
"Hello this is your mother. I just talked to Tansy and Lousie, they want to be interviewed too. Thelma threw a potholder at me. I think that's a yes. So tell them they can ask questions to them too. Promise me you'll do it."
"Well this is just going to be so... so... something."

Okay, so here's the deal you depraved diary people, is there something you would like to ask the ladies? Please bear in mind that I really hope this post fades quickly and dies in the feed, but I promised to do it. So here it is.

Did any of the ladies participate in adult relations outside their marriage?
If they had to do it over again, would they watch "Kill Bill" 1 or 2 or no to either one?
Any advice about menopause?
Will everything "down there" really dry up?
Is drinking (alcohol) underrated?
And finally: Does size matter?

I'm going to stick to nicer questions or I might start blushing and then where would we be?
And if Thelma and Louise have seen that movie about them. And what they think about that!
Did any of them every keep a diary? Did they ever read it to anyone? Did they ever read someone else's dairy? If they did, did they find out something juicy? Anybody having any hot affairs there?
I think that's it. For now.
Most memorable experience with a famous person. Who and when.
Favorite cuss word.
Favorite, forbidden snack. Got any now? Hid?
Best memory from childhood that always makes ‘em giggle
First car they “made-out” in.
First movie they saw.
Were they ever on TV? Why?
What is the stupidest thing one of your kids every did. (you might have a problem with this one. ….better take a tape recorder.)
Ever skinny dip? With who and where?
Who would you come back to life for, just to haunt ‘em?
If the great fairy of life sprinkled magic dust to change one thing about themselves, what would it be?
For mom: Did you ever go to bar in Dallas called the “Red Horse”?
This is great! Tell, Mom the dairy people are soooo looking forward to hearing about 'em!
and your favorite story of her, when you were a little girl, too, please.
Sit the ladies down and do the Pivot Questionnaire with them, let them discuss it, then maybe ask them what they'd ask if they had their own Questionnaire they'd like to share with the Diary People.
I'm so sorry. Best of luck to you!
I'm dumping all the questions into a document right now.
dicea, thanks for the suggestion. That might really make a nice ramp up to the rest of the questions.
Now I'm off to play another game of hurl.
Actually, it could be from anywhere along I5 on the way down...
How does your mom feel about being a "surrogate mom" or "surrogate grandma" to the diary people? (or at least, me! LOL)
What was your biggest disaster in the kitchen?
If you could have had any career, what would it be?
Is it (life) everything you thought it would be?

Voicegal, don't we have cows? ::sigh:: that's what I get for typing after cocktails!
Besides wedding, what's the most expensive dress they ever had? For what occasion?
When did they feel most beautiful?
Have they ever wore a tiara? (Before Mom's for Bob)
We know she never did the mouth thing with your Dad, but would she do it now? And how does Bob feel about this? And does the mouth thing count as a trip to Barnes and Noble, or is it just reading a few chapters?
She just went all mid-eville on me in your interview comments!
She is jealousing. She has got deep seated anxiety of being overlooked in favor of these old lady inteviews!
She is saying that HER HER HER interview is going to be the most awesome interview ever!
Maybe you should have HER interview the old ladies.
She was mean to me, crying was involved!
(Well, me making other people cry, and not directly related to the events, but INVOLVED!)
PS
As an actual old broad, in my heart if not my years, I am very pleased to say that having just scratched the surface very lightly, you have uncovered a yawning chasm of interest in nursing home life, old people, moms, and family and person history. It is like the proverbial eyebrow, everybody's got one, especially Italians.
I'm surprised at how interested I am in what they have to say. They are fascinating to me.
Of course all the questions are meant to torture the interviewer.
Tansy, Louisie, Thelma, and Mom,
If the four of you could take a road trip anywhere you wanted Thelma and Louise style where would you go and what would you like to do?
Ask you mom what is the funniest thing you did when you were a child. Are there photos? Sorry I had to ask that.
What do you most regret not having done, yet?
My mom is totally focused on "her" birds-- and in fact thought they might die if she didn't get feed for them RIGHT AFTER Hurricane Gustav. Does your mother have a thing about birds?
We eat dinner together. Her evening recap of the day's news is fascinating and often missing lots of very important information. Presently she's fascinated about the "AIG thingy and the contract that was the government's fault." Does your mom listen to the news? If so, what is her current favorite topic?
"Is it true that you can take the girl out of Texas, but never take Texas out of the girl?"
(now you have to do it! HA!)

Questions for the ladies (somewhat book & movie related, so we can better understand the whole movie-review/ratings system):
- Which character from Divine Secrets of the Ya-Yas do they most relate to?
- What did they think of Pretty Woman (the movie)?
- If she were to write a novel, what would be the primary plot? Describe her main character.
- What was their favorite age to be? Why?
and, well, yeah, I wanna know about all the other stuff, too. See, we are proving our depravity :-)
And, since you know we're "listening", do you edit your comments? If so, how? To be nicer? Meaner? Funnier?
I'm thinking though, that some of these might need a longer format that just an interview. I'll see if a question strikes one of the ladies as interesting enough to expand into a post.
Thanks for all the interest. I do appreciate it. The ladies will love this.
1) What is the best story she remembers about her Grandmother
2) What is her favourite recipe - and please share it with us, if its the chicken and dumplings, she needs to tell a meal related story
