In my continuing effort to justify my new camera purchase, I've decided to aggravate y'all with more stupid flowery type of pictures.
Now that I think about it, I might be unjustifying my camera purchase with these shots.
Well, what's important is that I aggravate you.
These always remind me of corn
I always get the impression if this flower could talk, it would do so too loud and drink up all your wine in a box
This is a little over the top. Reminds me of velvet curtains and those weird marble-ized gold flecked mirror squares.
This was my favorite of the week, and it actually made it into my "Self-Indulgent Crap" set on flickr.
I'm pretty sure I hate this one, but for some reason, I keep looking at it.
Here's one I like, even though it's sort of fuzzy and has no real point to it. Oh, you know, maybe that's why I like it, it's sort of like me, fuzzy and pointless.
HA! Threw in a non-flower one to see if you're paying attention.
I quite like this one.
Okay, that's the end of the unnecessary macro for this week. Thanks for taking the time to let these images load (::spin spin::).

Marvelous.
Art is its own justification....

It's like electron microscopy. (That's a word, right?)
It makes me wonder what *I* look like up close.
That's self-centered.
(thumbified because your photographs have given me a psychological complex)
I too indulged in a new camera and have barely scratched its surface. You inspire me!
You have a fine eye for structure. Can I have your old camera?

I love your pics - rated!
* The second one looks like pizza rolls. (Okay, that's not sex, but almost as good).
* The third one all pink and soft looks like a bird's eye view of lady parts.
* I got nuttin for the flikr one, but the one you hate reminds me of sperm at the ready.
* The yellow one looks like nature's areola and nipple.
I'm not touching the rest... But I'm real glad you got that camera.
For those that asked about the camera, it's a point and shoot Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77. It has an incredible built in macro lens.
Jodi, I took a picture of my face with this camera. It was traumatizing.
Please, please guys, upload some of your pics. It would help me feel less stupid. I love flower pictures. It's weird, because I have a black thumb, and I'm not a bouquet of flower type girl.
(Sadly, I still have marble-ized gold flecked mirror squares in my house.)

I love #5&6 - it's like the Zeigfeld Follies of the flower world.
I was just out taking pictures of daisies and true to form, the minute I try that macro level, the wind kicks up and they got all fleury!
Not everything in the world needs to be abstract or abstracted or obstructed or deconstructed.
Sometimes beautiful is just the ticket. Contemplating beauty is worth the time, every time. The fact that you seek it out with macro lenses instead of drawing it by hand after carefully observing it through mirrors and magnifying glasses is what separates you from some of the Renaissance masters. (And you can bet you butt that if they had a camera at the time, they would have used it.)
Look up "Ernst Haeckel" and blow your own mind!

OK. . .I really gotta stop drinking so much coffee. . .
My favorite is the dandelion seeds.
my favorite of this series was the non flower one, but they all are arresting
Do you just find this stuff around your yard?
That non-flower one just seems to have all kind of places that would look like naughty bits if isolated from the rest of the photo.

Nice job!
I quite like the last one too.
(ok I meant rated)
Again, a blanket statement - if anyone wants to use these photos for something, feel free. I sure as heck ain't doing nothing with them.
Or, uh, some purdy flowers.
Just a question, since I'm in the market for a new camera--what's the telefoto/zoom like? Do you use it?
(You've sold me on the macro features of this one, however...)
