A-Rod and his ALLEGED Roids...

Rate: 1 Flag

So someone (4 reliable sources) leaked it that A-Rod (Man-Rod), got his ROIDs (2 different steroids) on in 2003.  I'm shocked.  Shocked, I tell you.  Maybe he and Clemens were sharing.  Something we all learned in kindergarten.  Baseball is circling the drain in my sports world.  It just gets uglier every spring it seems.  How can these guys look at themselves in the mirror every morning.  What do they see?  Not just A-Rod, all of them that used.  What, there's no crime/violation if you don't get caught?  It's just another game for them.  Have you priced tickets at a MLB game or even attended one lately?  It's like dropping a mortgage payment on the ticket site and the game once you get there.  So here is just the latest blown whistle on MLB and the circus it has become.  I used to love baseball as a youngster and played it through college.  It just ain't the same anymore and it's not for the better.  Maybe one day it will be back on track but I'm not optimistic.  Hope springs eternal.  So what is the statute of limitations for Roids use/possession...could it be 5 years?

See Q&A regarding George Mitchell Report-

"St. Louis, Mo.: Can the criminal violations truly be ignored? Is there a statute of limitations on pressing charges? By going public with this information, does that make it harder to prosecute and have a fair trial? Do you think that is the Senator's intent? To make it so it is impossible to prosecute the past and thus allowing baseball to move forward.

Howard Wasserman: Mitchell clearly seemed to want the Report to stand as a historical document and to shift the focus onto recommendations for the future, not punishing past misconduct. So I think he would not want to see criminal punishment or MLB punishment.

Mitchell pointed out during the press conference that the government historically does not punish use--only possession (where someone is caught with the drugs on them) and distribution. So I would be surprised to see that change now."

The fact that these athletes take performance enhancing drugs is the least of it. The absurdity of their multi-million dollar salaries is what all of us should be offended by.

Thinking that we should look to these people to inform us about morality or ethics is something that everyone past the age of 14 should find ludicrous and amusing. Genetically freakish hand/eye coordination has never correlated with virtue, wisdom, or humility.
Chuck, thanks for your input. The worm really has turned on A-Rod and now some call him A Cheat & A Liar. The MLB Union (Players League Assoc.) performs a diss-service to the majority of players. It was reported that 1 out of 12 MLB ballers have used roids or HGH. Does this not really matter to the other 11? No one wants to be traded for not being a "Team Player", whatever that means in the clubhouse. I'm offended with MLB on some many levels. Meanwhile these guys (cheats) are still portrayed by the clubs as "Hero Atheletes". It is a league-wide problem that the owners don't want to deal with. If the owners want to punish these guys, take their money away for some games (suspensions).
