Once we cut through the bluster and rhetoric of the 5 activist (yes, activist) Supreme Court judges who turned back nearly 100 years of law imposing restrictions upon the financial capable (read: corporations and high-profile interest groups), we can safely see through what Justices Kennedy, Roberts, Scalia, Thomas and Alito so nakedly and crassly asserted:
Those who are most entitled to freedom of speech are those who can most afford to pay for that right.
In other words, the Supreme Court just put a price tag on the First Amendment.
Reminds me of that song from Team America: World Police:
"Freedom isn't free/No, there's a hefty fucking fee."
