A fortune from a fortune cookie I found yesterday.
Literally thousands of Syrian protesters have been killed in the demonstrations this year by the brutally repressive Syriuan regime. Just yesterday Huffpost.com reported at least 24 people killed, including at least two children and ten more were reported killed today in Homs, including a ten year old girl.
That's lots of dead people - a true calamity, especially to an audience that is sensitive to the issues in the often difficult mid-East.
After all, when 8 people died in the Gaza flotilla, there was almost pandemonium here on OS, many articles, much discussion, at least one EP.
But yet here is an even greater disaster, more deaths by a factor of perhaps 400 times - and yet there is silence here on OS.
Are the deaths of Arabs only important when Israel is somehow responsible?
What is so unique about deaths when Israel is involved?
