- Welcome! I am Christine “Tina” Conley, wife, mother, writer, and business owner. I am a life coach and interior decorator. For years I utilized coaching within the realm of decorating and through personal interactions with family, friends, and acquaintances. I enjoy guiding others to finding clarity in their lives. Wanting to do that on a larger scale, I took to blogging.
My intent with The Yellow Kite is to bring sound, uplifting, and honest perspectives on life to a wide, diverse audience. My hope is that through sharing my own experiences, my unique style of coaching, and my optimistic attitude, I can help others elevate their lives to the levels they want and deserve!

Several years ago I endured a series of events that caused me to question my friendships. All of them.
I won't go into the nitty-gritty now, but the crux of it is this: I am a giving person and found myself giving--often times not willingly, but because I had been cornered… Read full post »

I am not a big fan of the New Year's Resolution. This is because in the past, on New Year's Day, I did what everyone expected: I vowed… Read full post »
Today, Mother's Day, happens to also be the one-year mark of losing our furry family member, Gretta. My heart still aches from that loss, but I also continue to embrace the many gifts Gretta brought into my life. Today, in honor of Gretta, I am again sharing one of The Yellow… Read full post »
Good day Kite Fliers! Most of my posts are life lessons. Sometimes those lessons can be applied to business as well. Today I'm going to share a business lesson that definitely crosses over to life lesson territory.
For as long as I can remember I have been an entrepreneur. My first… Read full post »
Good day my friends! Today's topic--Daring to Bare Me--challenges me in the biggest way. It is with trepidation I am going to share something very intimate about myself. Even as I begin this post, I wonder if I will finish it and hit publish; I wonder if this is the right thing/… Read full post »
Today I have a question for you. By asking myself this same question many years ago, I changed how I live my life, and I just thought maybe it's time to ask you. However, before I ask, I'm going to simply state that I have my beliefs and you have yours,… Read full post »
As I pondered what to write as we come to the end of one year and begin another, so many thoughts, advice, stories, cautions, and remembrances swirled through my head. I considered sharing a list of life lessons; but then again, you can get those by Googling or on Facebook. I… Read full post »

As I fired up Face Book this morning, I was met with reminders of today's events, along with the realization that today is December 19th. I literally asked, "What? How can it be the 19th already?" That means I have only a few more days to get my Christmas preparations done.

Today's post is inspired by the recent presidential debates we have endured on television. In my opinion, neither the presidential nor vice presidential candidates receive exemplary marks for their behaviors. And while I give props to one moderator, the other could step up his game.
"We are prepared for insults, but compliments leave us baffled." --Mason Cooley
How do you feel about that quote? I have found it to be true, both in myself and others. Of course, there is a flip side, and a middle ground, too.
The flip side refers to those who are overly… Read full post »
When stressed, overwhelmed, confused or in a "stuck place" I often turn my focus to the mundane. Tasks like cleaning my drawers, organizing a closet or even just hand-washing dishes allows me to shift my focus. In a way, it's similar to meditation.
Like when meditating, I am more open, my… Read full post »
Here it is Friday and since life has been all mixed up lately, I've decided to skip the Top Ten List and build off an old post from when I blogged at .

I'm going to start this post by stating, I freakin' love synchronicity! I got up this morning knowing I was going to blog about my recent distractions and how those, along with a recent road trip, have led me to clarity. As I gathered my thoughts and checked FB, I noticed Velvet… Read full post »
I trust you've heard the expression putting out fires? It is generally uttered by a busy executive to sum up his or her job of dealing with situations that flare up during their day. Trust me, this putting out fires is not only for busy executives!

Hello! I know it's a little late for my Friday Top Ten List, but today's list needed to be postponed until the day was nearly done. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

The past few weeks have been filled with summertime weather and activities. I hesitate to include idyllic in my description, for there have been some interesting moments! However, all-in-all, this has been one of the best summers I have had in years.

Happy Fourth of July! I know many of you read from across the globe and today means little to you in terms of a national celebration, but here, in the U.S.A. it's a pretty big deal! Regardless where you are, there is a nugget in here for you...

From time-to-time, I encounter a situation that is more of a have-to than a want-to. If I allow myself, I can quickly become consumed with dread, resentment, and a feeling of entrapment. However, those do not serve to improve my situation, so I take a different approach. Instead of loo/… Read full post »
One of my favorite enhancements to our home is my fish pond. Hearing the soothing sound of falling water and watching the languid movement of the fish bring balance, appreciation, and tranquility to each day.
