- I am a Scotch-Irish-Cherokee child of Appalachia whose work investigates the path of individual self-actualization within conformist-based societal norms. “Outsider” positioning within the dominant cultural narratives and politics of representation are major themes in my work.
I push myself to engage deeply with the ideas behind my projects and continually explore cross-media practices, alternative contexts of production, and new models for exhibition. My work deploys traditional as well as emerging conceptual/inter-disciplinary visual arts practices, film, experimental theatre genres and a special focus on poetry/music collaborations.
- Theo Edmonds is a former lawyer and healthcare executive who walked away from corporate America in 2004 to pursue his purpose and passion in life as an artist.
