Bio
I am an X-Man. I’m an ex-photographer, ex-artist, ex-musician, ex-husband, ex-business owner. But I am in the process of renewing and reviving those atrophied abilities. I am an average man from the Midwest with simple childhood memories of ol’ Grandpa chasing me around the barn with the power tools. I am an analog guy in a digital world. I enjoy comedy, music, art, and art photography. I enjoy good friends, good food, and good drink, I dislike bad friends, bad food, and bad drink and people who use the word "like" 25 times per sentence. I have lived long enough to know that I know very little except that it is impossible to say "ebay" in pig Latin.

Black History Month:Lesser Known Facts

Black History month began on February 1st. Also February 1st was National Dark Chocolate Day. The fact that both of these are on the same day seems flagrantly racist to me. It also seems odd that we even have a Black History month. After all what is called Black history is,… Read full post »

You sigh before the mirror
and tell me that
your body is not beautiful
I can only hug you
to let you know
how wrong you are

If you could see yourself
through my eyes
If you could see yourself
through my hands
and through my body
you would know

Beneath my hands
your small breasts
are perfection's pri… Read full post »

Christmas Fun Facts You Should Know!

"It's a Wonderful Life" appears on TV more often than any other holiday movie. The holiday movie that appears least? "The Creationist's Scientific Christmas" in which the baby Jesus is eaten by dinosaurs.

The word Christmas is Old English, a contraction of "Christ's Mass". Or a contraction of the repl… Read full post »

Blind Fog: for Fiction Friday

Blind Fog

"What’s that, Riley? You went outside with grandpa to feed the dog and you couldn’t even see the doghouse from the porch? I know! It’s a blind fog! We were lucky to have gotten to grandpas before it moved in! What’s that, Riley? Well yes… maybe this is like… Read full post »

Rediscovering Sex: Part 1. Condoms

When I say "rediscovering" I don't mean I actually lost sex or forgotten where I put my sex. I always kept my hand in the game, if you know what I mean. I mean rediscovering a sexual relationship with another person. Which includes all of the accompanying baggage such as actually… Read full post »

Watching Dad Die

He struggles in his hospital bed. His skin is waxy and ashen yellow, the hue of old newsprint. The paleness accentuates the brown liver-spots on his hands. Those hands are strapped to the rails of his bed to prevent him from removing the oxygen tube from his nose. Tubes and wires… Read full post »

Faces of the Health Care Poor

In the midst of all of the vitriol surrounding health care in America, at ground zero in the animadversion concerning costs, are real flesh and blood people. Us.

Loneliness

Loneliness is a clever cunning cat
It waits for the night
When the green silhouetted trees
Go black against the sundown sky
When the blood of the sun
Is drained from the clouds
Leaving them dirty pieces of gray

Loneliness grows
Sending down roots
Into the private parts
Of your mind’s hidden garden
Making… Read full post »

A Jerry Springer Woman

Poem With Nothing To Say

This is a poem with nothing to say
No reason to exist but I wrote it anyway
Bored at my desk on a Friday night
I opened my computer and started to write

A simpler rhyming scheme there could not be

This poem plows on ponderously
