(if you are down in the dumps and this doesn't make you smile even a little, it's time for a meds check. :) this is my new favorite tv show, well, after Flashforward and the Seinfeld reunion coming up on Curb... new york former bad guys rescuing animals??? i mean, what is better than this? really? okay, i just heard that the Rating thing is broken so no more ranting about people not Rating this post. i want this show to stay on the air and this is my small action. i mean, shit, i'm as depressed as a bipolar 2 gal gets but still trying to share good things with you people. oh, and remember, Folkie Friday starts this week. also considering TV Tuesday since i'm basically a walking talking TV Guide.)
About Rescue Ink Unleashed (on NatGeo cable channel at 10 PM on Fridays! if you have comcast, it's 273.)
“If you don’t like us from the way we look, we can’t help that. But if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem, so stay out of the way.”
— Joe Panz, Leader, Rescue Ink
In New York’s war on animal abuse, some of the worst offenders are pursued by a group of tattooed motorcycle-riding tough guys on a mission to save animals in danger. They call themselves Rescue Ink, and these are their stories.
Princess cowers in her new environment as Rescue Ink's Big Ant introduces the frightened pit bull to her new forever home.
Rescue Ink's Joe Panz with a rooster on a farm in upstate New York where Rescue Ink relocated some stray chickens to from the streets of Queens.
Rescue Ink's Big Ant (Left) and Batso volunteer at an adoption fair to help find the pit bull mix Ebony a permanent home.
Rescue Ink transforms this old ambulance into a hot-rod animal rescuing machine.
Members of Rescue Ink gather to discuss a game plan on how to catch a group of stray chickens running amok in Queens, New York.

In a metropolitan area with more than 20 million residents, thousands of animals — dogs, cats, and even chickens and piranhas — are neglected, abused, hoarded or housed illegally. A few years ago, eight tough guys from the mean streets, who frequented hot rod shows and tattoo parlors, discovered their strongest bond was actually a passion for animals — and they formed a rescue organization like no other. Some have violent and turbulent pasts, complete with run-ins with the law, but all are seeking redemption and solace in their mission to save animals from human abuse.
This new weekly series that documents this unlikely group of animal activists on their crusade to save helpless, abandoned and abused animals. The eclectic band of brothers — composed of club bouncers, security guards and even a retired New York Police Department (NYPD) detective — is on call 24/7 to take on cases no one else will. They’re not cops, animal experts or even animal control. They’re just big guys with even bigger hearts and a desire to save animals from deplorable living conditions and abusive or simply misguided owners.

YO!!! i am so delighted that you saw the show too! and that you also love it. i saw that guy who was shooting the cats. i couldn't believe that he kept messing with these guys. he does have balls of steel at least. the chasing the chickens? i thought i was oging to die of happiness. that was so funny. oh, this is great. now i have someone to debrief with. oh god, tonight, with the malnourished rottweiler, i went ballistic. love love love, sweetheart, and more love!!!

LittleWillie, thank you for coming by! animal cops is too much for me sometimes. the puppy mills and such. this show is much kinder and gentler but the situations are pressing and poignant. love love love!!
Debb!!! you cut right to the heart of the matter. that's what i love, gruff guys who are really sweet. love the smile! love love love!
Zuma Zee!!! you're so right. it's always wonderful to see people doing good. this is just more entertaining because of the setup. lobve love love!!

oh, it's my Annie!!! in Hawaii! oh wow, you're still at the Y. of course it's estrogen TV and the Today show! sounds like there is a satellite there. you'd probably have to watch this in the wee hours. the girls might love these guys. i can't wait to hear everything that's happened there and is going on when you finally get settled, sweetheart. love love love
and HUGE gratitude for both of you!! i hope i made sense. i'm tired, in the good way.
LL2!!!! i love it when you come by. it is Must See TV if you're an animal lover and/or love the gruff with a heart of gold type and the whole idea of people trying to redeem themselves for prior bad acts by doing good. i suspect you'll LOVE the show and i LOVE you.
Pamela girl!!! thanks so much for coming by. again, this is these former bad guys making something good out of something bad. that's what i love so much. they used their size and toughness as bouncers and god knows what else before and now they are using those same attributes (and these guys are BIG and tough-looking) to insist on animals being treated with love. love love love! and i hoep you check it out.
i'm so thrilled that this makes you as happy as it makes me. and can't wait for you to see it so we can tawk. Rhode Island is neither a road nor an island, Discuss!!!! i love people who do bad but then fight to redeem themselves. sometimes more than people who were never tempted to the darkside because it you're not tempted, well, it's not an effort of will and discipline and heart. shutting up now. love lvoe lvoe and praying vigorously for Mom to pass on. have you told her that she has your permission and sis's to move on? that helped Richard to leave the agony behind and find some peace. it was hard to do but... it had to be done.
oh MP, you're a doll! i know, i love stories too. about tattoos, animals and even people. :) i'm mostly afraid of people. and i love bad guys going good and making amends. veery very cool. love love love!!!
Ralph!!! you rock, man, for coming by for this. i know, Panz holding that chicken is so lovely! i know. he's a major body builder with the biggest heart ever. he has 5 rottweillers of his own. i think he's the one who does. love love love, dude!!!
Blue!! so great to see you here, love. you're so right about the book and cover lesson. in this case, these guys, well, most of them, were really bad boys so the judgment would be on the nose but they are now reformed and doing penance by saving animals that are in awful situations. love love lvoe!!
and Gratitude for all of you. Please spread the word about this show. i want it to stay on the air. and please pass this on to people on here. i KNOW that there are a shitload of animal Lovers on OS. and probably Bikers too.
i do my best to share this kind of heart-warming stuff with people on here. so much bad news all the time. so i shared my wonderpups in yellow ponchos in the rain and Phil Ochs and Richie Havens and now this. stay tuned for Folkie Fridays and maybe TV Tuesdays! i'm a walking TV guide and some of it is really good. shutting up now. love love love and gratitude! and please email me about what's happeneing with your book, love! i'm so thrilled for and proud of you.
There is a local club of geezers down here that raise money through poker runs, etc. to get aide dogs trained for the wounded coming home from Iraq. I was really meaning to post about it, but it got moved to the back burner. Shame on me. Anyway, this summer they raised enough to have three shelter dogs sent to aide school, (or whatever they call it. Forgive my memory) at $40,000 per pup. That's some pretty generous work.
Michael, oh yes, i know that bikers have hearts. i dated bikers in the past. and my redneck in-laws are all bikers. so i wasn't putting anyone down. at all.
and, shit, wow, that Aide dog/Service Dog place with teh money raising that you have there in Florida makes my Guys look like deadbeats but how cool that that is going on. you should post about them. you'd do a much better job than i could ever do. take good care.
LOVE Flashforward, too. :-)
And, Shiral!!! i'm with you, girl. abusing animals is a sign of great disturbance in the force. but the truth is that we have sentenced millions of wild animals to death because of global warming. which is why i LOVE to focus on what is good and right in the world. And, as you said, these guys showing up at your door?????? pretty freaking motivating. love love love
and big gratitude for both of you!!!
Bobbot! thanks for coming by, my friend. i do have an infinite love of animals. some day soon i will post about a big reason for that. love love love and gratitude and pass this one on. can't wait till you see the show. i'm going to quiz you.
God bless 'em
