Running: A sport unaffected by the economy, landscape and overall moral.
A minimalist sport that is affected minimally by the poor decisions that mankind tends to make.
The drought does not affect the long run. Yes, it's true more water is needed to make up for the heat and fluids lost through sweat, but the runner is not affected by the drought.
The yards I run by are drier, the fruit I buy is more expensive, but the run goes on. A 20 mile run is still going to be a 20 mile run.
Is this insensitive?
No, that is one reason I chose to run. Outside sources have a minimal affect.
The drought may affect my work, income and conversation at the water cooler, but the runner runs on.
If you are not a runner, take a run! You will find yourself feeling better about the drought.
Do you run?
Has your run been affected by the drought?
