I have been communication with a News Anchor about Tim Mullens a local Springfield man who sent plans to BP on how to fix the oil leak. They have already picked their hero, another Joe the plumber.
There is no other proof or basis of fact in which they have "found" these heros other than their own self-promotion saying, "I'm the one." (Nothing has been substantieated.) The fact is many people could be the one. I, however would like to promote a man who has not promoted himself; Tim Mullens.
Trying to find the guy to give the right credit to may be very difficult. I know that before they came out with news that some plumber may have come up with the fix, Tim, an engineer (who does work with plumbing on a citywide scale) drew up plans, showed them to his co-workers (other engineers) and then sent them on to BP directly. When BP started showing their new fix, the guys at his work gathered around and said, Tim, they're using your plans!
Now I have heard of more than one "plumber" taking credit for creating the plans. ABC had on a plumber from Florida and Fox News had a guy from Kansas on. No one knows for sure yet, no matter what they say. The Christian Science Monitor chose to promote a man who's name is Joe at his word that he was the one. BP has not acknowledged anyone, not even the man that the Professor at a west cost college that said he sent a plumbers plans on to BP. (the same place Tim sent his plans.) No one seems to care about the facts or getting the story right, so I am submitting my likely hero, because he has the brains, sent the plans and doesn't self-promote.
My reason for wanting to see Tim get credit is because he is such a giving guy otherwise. Tim works for the city of Springfield Missouri as an engineer designing the city's sewer and water systems.
The other thing about Tim is that he has MS. He has had it for years and up until the last couple of years he was bound to a wheel chair and getting worse. Then he was given the chance to try a new medication that has revolutionized his life. He is not longer in a wheelchair. Tim beleives this medication needs to be promoted so that others can take advantage of it's benefits.. He is planning a boat trip on "The Great Loup" to help raise awareness for this new medication. The boat will be "Wrapped" with advertisement for the medication and he has partnered with the MS society to help make this known. He is fundraising for MS and is also fundraising to acquire the boat and cover the expenses to take the trip.
This is his website; check it out and if you know someone with MS let them know about this new medication. http://www.msvictory.com/about.html

Thanks for posting this. It would be nice to see Tim get the recognition for his idea on stopping the oil spill.
