Health and Fitness 6 weeks in.

Rate: 2 Flag

Hit had been about 6 weeks since I stared on my road to health and fitness. It is really hard to stay motivated, but I have developed some good habits. I haven't had much in the way of sugar since I started. The only exception being my birthday. I had a couple pieces of cake.  I purposely got a little one so I wouldn't get "hooked" again.

I have now lost a total of 9 lbs.

My beginning weight was 290

My waist size was 53

My weight is now 281

My waist size is now 51.5

I do feel like I'm making progress even though it has been slow. I bought some new clothes and mistakenly bought one size too small and it fits. I won't have to take it back. I hope I haven't wasted a bunch of money, but maybe if I have to I can alter some of them if they start falling off. It's a good problem...but clothes cost a lot and I like them...though not enough to quit.

I haven't been biking as much because it has been cold and my husband is a real sissy. I may have to man up and do it by myself. He talks about getting a riding stand for his so he can do it inside. I'd rather be cold and go somewhere. I am going on a moonlight ride this Sunday night. Someone at our church got it started. I will enjoy it cold or not.

I am mostly just trying to stay away from sugar, not eat seconds and am not eating snacks. Calories around 1800 to 2000 so far. My next ploy is to try to get more fat out of my diet. One strategy at a time and one day at a time.

Ruth: good for you! I knew a man who ate nothing with corn--and that included corn syrup. You'd be surprised how many products contain it. Are you walking at all? That helps a lot!
Not walking much. I have terrible arthritus in my knees. I just got cortizone shots in them so I could keep using them. Ha! That's why I try to bike ride. I have been subbing more and I always have to walk more when I do that, like it or not. I just need to get out on the bike whether I have company or not. After I lose more maybe I will be able to walk as well without so much pain.
It's working! Good on you for persisting.
