Previously on Linc: Linc has heard voices since he was a kid, but they’re not what they seem. He can hear other people’s thoughts, but the ability has left him friendless and homeless. A mysterious corporation, Genetitech, tracks him down and offers to train him to use his skills. He soon learns that there are others with strange power like him, and when Genetitech is raided he is forced to go onto the run with one of them.

Moises dropped into a cross legged position, his back to Moira and a sullen look on his face. Linc hoisted himself up on the dock and into sitting as well.
"How'd the gunmen get you here?" Moira asked.
"It's a little fuzzy since I was knocked out and all, but I think they had a big black SUV," Moises said.
"Kind of like the one back there?" Moira asked.
Linc looked over his shoulder and Moises spun around on his butt so that they both were facing Moira. They looked around her so that they could see the far end of the dock. Indeed, there was a black SUV parked just past the boats. It definitely hadn't been there when Linc and Moira had passed by earlier.
"That looks like the one," Moises said, pushing up into standing.
"You think you can get it to run?" Moira asked.
"Maybe. It's been a little while," Moises said.
"You know how to do that? Hotwire a car?" Linc asked. He hadn't expected Moises to have such illegitimate talents.
"A kid in my foster home taught me," Moises said, "but normally it wasn't on as fancy of cars as that. I'm not sure if I could get that one."
"There's only one way to find out. Why don't you guys carry Eva down and give it a try," Moira said.
"Us? You're not going to help?" Moises said.
"I'll supervise, you know, make sure you don't hurt your backs."
