As you all know, Open Salon never sleeps. Ever since we launched the site, many of you have been posting, commenting and rating 24 hours a day, seven days a week -- and we're thrilled. But as many of you have surely noticed, there are some times of the week when the editors aren't around to give your work the attention (with Editor's Picks, and cover placement) we'd like to give it -- most notably, on weekends.
I wanted to make it official: While we check in on the site on Saturdays and Sundays (and do our best to keep track of spammers), we can't guarantee that we'll be able to promote your work as much as we'd like to on those days. If you're planning on publishing a blockbuster post, and you want us to see and promote it (with an EP, an Open Salon cover spot, or space on Salon itself), you may want to save it for Monday through Friday (until about 5 p.m., EST) when we'll do our best to give it the love it deserves.

Thanks for the info - nice to know someone's paying attention.
Thanks for clarifying.
How dare you guys sleep and stuff...
I figured as much. But...but can you get a random generator that moves the pictures around?
So folks, take it from me. I'm a terrific writer with very few EPs to my name. Come read my stuff at nights and on the weekends.
But the whole EP policies of this site do need to be clarified for one and all.
I do love a place where the lights are always on and a story teller is up and running. Thanks Guys. You Ed's do good work here.
@Cindy Ross: oh sure, you're so special you get your OWN time zone too? I knew it. Here in Phoenix proper, It's only 2 hours behind now...

THE SHAME! THE SHAME!!

Nah, just kidding, we all figured you guys didn't use the full potential of the EP-Picker 6000 to randomly pick EPs after 6pm till 8:55am. It's okay. We understand.

Please enjoy your weekends! They only happen once a week!
But I still am unsure of what planet I am from.
For crying out loud, I'm in SoCal. One thing I try to do is write my post and load it into OS. The next morning I'll log on and publish it. Voila, problem solved.
Cantankerous old curmudgeon?? Thank you. That's the nicest thing anyone's said to me all day. Just remember, I'm the "Cheap Bastid" too!
I was contemplating a career as a conspiracy theorist as a result of my recent affiliation with OS - thank you for sparing me! :)
Iam blogging from last four month, what kind of your editor`s pick up that I study carefully ,which blog are sensational, sexy, or useful to pull more advertise on your web that you are picking up.I have no objection for that after all how can anybody forget his selfishness.
easiest way to follow your favorites is go to cover, click on most recent | posts| use arrow to change 'show:' window to 'favorites',
refresh once in a while. We can see 25 posts per page, 5 pages of posts so we can catch up with anyone who posted while we were asleep. Or set up a Google reader page, Artfish posted how to do that some time ago, just add all your favorites. On the cover, though, you can see stats for posts.
Hope this helps, we like to read lots of you.

That said, just want to say thanks for OS ... the hardest part of blogging isn't the actual blogging ... it's finding an audience for your blog ... OS provides a ready made audience, and various ways of highlighting quality posts ... and thats probably the most valuable addition to ANY blog ... so thanks for providing us an audience and a system :)
Sorry for asking, but I haven't seen anything about this........
To be pedantic, 5pm Friday is 2pm in California. I mean, c'mon!
