As most of you are probably aware (given the many food-related open calls we've been doing), we're very excited to have launched Salon's new food section. In the coming weeks we're going to be rolling out a number of new food-related features on Salon, including one focusing on photos of delicious and/or disgusting foods -- more specifically, your photos of delicious and/or disgusting food!

We've recently created the Salon food Flickr pool, and we'd love for you to join! Once things get going, we'll regularly be selecting the most beautiful images of culinary successes for our "Today's Special" photo feature, and pictures of culinary disasters -- unappetizing meals, weird grocery items, misshapen deserts -- for "Unfortunate Foods." If we use your work on Salon, we'll make sure to give you credit, and link back to your original photo.

So check it out, join up, and we hope you'll let your foodie imagination run wild.

I'm really liking this new direction.
Why do I have a feeling that iamsurly is going to rule the "Unfortunate foods" section with all her disgusting recipe cards....?
So are those sunny side up eggs dumped on top of heirloom tomatoes? or what?
Oh. No.
Surly finally gets her own column.
Can we post pictures of our meals if they are still on the hoof or swimming around? Or flying by? Or slithering?
Are these called 'Betty Davis Eyes'?????
What the hell are those snot balls that look like they were hocked up by H1N1 middle-schoolers?
What's that up there? looks good.
I wish I had a job under you. Check out my blog.
Excellent, will pass this on via Twitter!
I'm OH SO GLAD That I'm not the only person that takes photos of my food!
My idea of a succesfull recipe is when my family survives dinner. They eat anything, no time to take pictures really. Most disgusting food: I think snails, no matter how French you pronounce them.

As the Chief Gravity Defyer of our company working with a number of gourmet clients, we are involved practically shooting gourmet foods every week or two. In fact, starting in a day or two, I am launching on my Salon blog, "7 Days of Deli Bliss" plus another entitled "Foodie Porn for Chocolate Lovers." But I art direct these and don't shoot them. We hire these photographers to shoot these for our clients. OK to submit? If so, HOW do I submit, I seemed to have missed that part...
Cool. Looking forward to seeing and sharing.
