I know recipes are supposed to be detailed but just throw the title of this post into a pot add some chicken stock and cook.

Last nights side dish of green beans became supper. After tasting one of the green beans for doneness I decided to put everything else back in the refridgadater (that spelling is for verbal remedy) and add more of the Kielbasa I had used as seasoning for the beans. Hot corn bread with a dab of butter in the bottom of the bowl - beans, sausage , potatoes on top and plenty of pot likker. Yum. One mouthfull and I told Alice Waters to kiss my ass.

I'm jumping on the train NOW. You a good cooker.
ti ti is a great cooker, ann. i love seeing you this goofy, annie. where the fuck is my ti ti?
I'm a veggie, so can't do the sausage (that sounds kind of sexual), but there is nothing in the world better than fresh green beans steamed & seasoned with butter & salt & pepper!
Great idea for a midnight meal.
Fresh green beans and potato anything and I'm in.
in your dreams you told Alice waters to kiss your ass
The real treat was that the green beans were from my garden.

Theo- Theo at least there is some value in knowing it takes two people to replace you.

Annimal wait about a week for the green beans to grow back out. By then we should have fresh tomatoes.

Suzie- Sorry about the meat thing. As long as there is a little fat and some smokey flavor. Maybe a teaspoon of olive oil a clove of garlic and some smoked saitan. I once made a lovely soup with soy sauce marinated tofu that I sliced relatively thin and baked in the oven....too long. It was leathery when it came out. BUT it was perfect in soup and "meaty."
Mr Mustard, Yes it would be. I was just telling Theo that by nature I am a night owl but I have to go to work early so no midnight snacks for me. But if I could.

Emma, next time I'll plant more beans so you and annimal come by there will be plenty, plus it looks like I better have a veggie pot going to.

Arriana, The fact that she doesn't know that I said it shouldn't count against my bravery! Actually I am researching for a big post about her and I've come to think that both those who adore her and those who want to give her a good smack may be right.

All- someone remind me that next week I want to tell you all about cooking Cajun Pecan Catfish when I lived in New Orleans. Deeelicious.
Green beans and porky tasting stuff ... GOOD!!! Thanks Tijo :)
Sometimes simple meals can be the best – and this has the makings of a great dinner. I like your style of cooking - Thanks.
I love green bans, especially right out of the garden. We southerner's like our food fresh!!
I am happy that I followed gmgaton. scanner, and Crabby_Granny_Stomper. I gotta get out of here.
Tijo? You know what's delicious goes with beans?

Carp!
River Carp and Whiskey River. Beer. I recommend:
Boil Carp in a black cast iron pot overnight. Chill it.
Crap
Fish
Toss
Sip the cool beer with bare Ass Alice. You eat to Tempo!
Crap!
Oh my!
O Tijo!
Yum - a Polish dream come true :)

At our house, it's the frigiderator....
you mean you din't put everything else back in the "ice box" as we say in N'awlins. this is one of my favorite non-recipe recipes - my Mom does this with one, only adding onions, garlic & a can of tomatoes

kudos on the home grown!
Sounds good. When I could garden we always ate fresh green beans, new potatoes, onions, bacon together. Loved it.

Monte
Man, you obviously know how to mix up some groceries! I'm resisting making any jokes about kielbasa, however - because I love you.
Now THIS is the kind of food post I can relate to.
Angma-amazing what some smokey tasting pork will do isn't it?

Mr Gaston- Simple is good in summer especially when ingredients are at their best and need no embellishment.

Scanner- and you have a much longer growing season so you have no excuses. After living most of my adult life in the south I agree with southerners on most things food related. You folks sure screw up some corn bread tho.

Arthur- carp and beer and green beans? Plenty of all three around here- good thing too with Annimal and Emma already coming and now bare ass Alice.

Bluesurley- We run the gamut from ice box to fridge here sometimes frigidaire even.

Roy-Simple, fresh and easy- just like my men.

LPSrocks- my mom makes that too. Do you go make groceries to put in your icebox?

Monte- I have been thinking about regional foods and what they might be for the midwest that might be the quintessential summer dish.

Owl- I used to work with a lesbian who always ate hotdogs one day we sat across from each other at lunch. I had tuna salad... I'll stop there. About ten words too late but...

Steve- Short and sweet?
