How exciting is this?  Tomorrow we bomb the moon!

Sorry, but this just tickles the hell out of the nerd in me.  When I think of all those summer nights this little 7 year old sat in the backyard watching the moon move across the sky, then July 20, 1969 and now this!

Water!  There might be water on the moon!  We could live there!  Vacation there!  Have a little cottage on Lake Luna, sit up all night drinking Tang and watching the earth rise!  Oh I was born too soon!

Here is the 3 1/2 minute video of the hit.  Not as much fun as watching precision bombing during the First Gulf War, but way more fun for us nerdy types.

You can't believe how adorably 7 this makes me feel...can we talk through our tin cans while watching through our telescopes? ;)

Thanks for the explanation...not sure I'll be up that early, but I will definitely be checking it out on the web.

Thanks for the tip, Tim. I see from the picture in your banner that the explosion turned out to be quite a big one . . . . Strange that what would be left is the point of impact.

Now now, Mary. Blowing stuff up is good for us. Helps get some of those nasty agressive feelings out of our system (doesn't it?). Who can think about money when there is science to be done?
