I guess all things really do go in circles.
An honest candidate (yes, please don’t comment on the oxymoron) for the US Senate has spoken truthfully about what he wants for America. His name is Ron Johnson, and he is a Republican. There, I’ve actually used a variant of the word “truth” and “Republican” in the same sentence.
Mr. Johnson believes in small government and free markets. Not news. Mr. Johnson feels our Federal Government intrudes too much in the markets and distorts outcomes by its actions. Again not news; this is standard Republican fare is it not? So what exactly would a proper government look like if Mr. Johnson had his way?
Well, it would look a lot like the one enjoyed by the People’s Republic of China.
Wait a minute Tim. Are you saying Mr. Johnson is a Republican AND a communist sympathizer? Apparently. You see, Mr. Johnson said in an interview the other day “the climate for business investment is far more certain in communist China then it is in the US here.” You see, this must be why China is eating our lunch economically. They have a much better business climate than we do! He went on to say “We’ve created such a high level of uncertainty in this economy because, quite honestly because of the agenda that Senator Feingold represents.”
An honest Republican Communist Senate candidate – wow that’s a real mind bender! Mr. Johnson seems to think we could solve our economic problems by getting rid of pesky things like environmental standards, child labor laws, minimum wages and governmentally enforced quality regulations.
And to think I was getting depressed about the upcoming elections.

Perhaps he is positioning himself for the future when China will own our ass completely.
O'Steph - the link in the piece is to the Wisconsin State Journal article. Of course today he has retracted it and said he doesnt like China all that much. Imagine
Peter, is that position being reserved for Carly F?
Apparently, by Mr. Johnson's standards, it gets you owned. Scary, scary, and not to be forgotten.
Sparky - I think its nice that a Republican was truthful about his beliefs for a change. Now if only he didnt retract them a day later . . .
Tom - thoughts ; I thought Republicans werent supposed to have any that didnt originate in their talking points memos. When they expose their thoughts, you get truths like this one. Lets pray he doesnt actually get elected.
ONL - You're right on. I actually think ol' Joe is communicating with todays Rs through some secret Ouija board controlled by R. Limpballs and Grover Nordquist.
