An anointed wind blows
across the shriveling country
slapping backs
and kicking yapping dogs
Cooling palms wither
in the biter blow
The poor vote dithers
and my ears bleed from offensive lies
taunting tilted
fractured
The gnarled truth of a once bright nation
covered and pitted from the constant blasting
of greed
grains against my parched soul
vapid from lies
This wirlwind gathers
collides
frowning at opposition
picking at cracks
dropping debris
leaving barren evidence
Frost bitten life hangs in the early shadows
as time turns backwards.

And sometimes I feel just the same..
'..and my ears bleed from offensive lies.''
I believe to run for office one has to be of a special breed with the ability to think in four year terms and say or do anything to achieve that goal.

Oh, wait a minute... I guess every corrupt banana republic in the world, along with dictatorships and religiously ruled countries do business that way! Until we wise up and limit politicians to a reasonable amount to be spent on campaigns, all we will see is more of these funded lies.
If they took all the money spent on running for office and spent it on education, we'd all be better off and a lot smarter.
