I feel kind of ambivolent about this. Should have happened long ago. If a so called terrorist feels like they have 10 years to live after diong something so wrong, whats to stop them? Ah well, that wraps up 2012 for the Dems. Just what the Reps. wanted. This means that they can get down to preparing for 2016. Now that they've time to find and polish up a candidate that isn't already known to the American people as needing a brain transplant.

Everything has a purpose. Even the "death" of a "terrific excuse" to attack, invade, and control other countries to "protect 'Merikan interests." In other words "profits."

And it keeps people feeling patriotic long enough for the "wealth recovery" to continue without it ever turning into a "job recovery".

I hear you, Tink. All I care about is that it should help Obama get re-elected and maybe shift the balance of power in Congress back to the liberals (I intentionally didn't say "Democrats"). To me, this likelihood is worth celebrating, because the alternative would be a nightmare I don't wish to contemplate at the moment.

Myriad, according to what I heard on the news is, "cutbacks" in the military in the area of Afghanistan. What that probably means is that we will be moving them into another region so we can spread, uh, Democracy.

I decided I was going to comment on only one bin Laden post. As Geraldo says, rejoice! Yours is the lucky winner!!!! (Keep in mind however, I am kind of delirious because I have a high fever along with the flu.)

Am I glad they got him? Sure. Am I doing a jig? No. It's anti-climactic and should have happened years ago. There were several opportunities to get him including in 2001, when he was within the grasp of U.S. military in Afghanistan. But Donald Rumsfeld refused to provide the soldiers necessary to capture him. Why? In order to justify the Iraq War. Now look where we are.

"Should we go look in the mirror and see what a terrorist looks like?" We should but we won't. Bin Laden may be dead but his legacy lives on and we have no one to blame but ourselves.
