What did the president know and when did he know it?
A 40th anniversary commemerative "Video"brought to you by a Republican House of Representatives.
Thoughts?
Update:
Horses and Bayonets
Defense secretary Paneta says that mounted cavalry forces were not sent in to rescue the Libyan ambassodor because the baggage train would not have had time to trek in from the coast and might have been stranded due to lack of horse fodder in Benghazi. Troops armed with Muskets and Bayonets would not have presented a significant opposition force for Al Queada affiliated militia forces armed with AK-47's and RPG, and could not be risked in a firefight already lost.
Meanwhile, in the real world, the same technological "edge" that allows us to scrap our outmoded naval surface ships (the ones which don't have aircraft land on them or sail under the water) provided one of the ex-seal operatives, Tyrone Woods, with a laser target designator which, had a C-130 gunship been dispatched at the beginning of the attack and been, 7 hours later, orbitting overhead when he pointed the designator onto the mortar crew which fired the round that killed him, would have handily blown the attacking mortar into small pieces, instead of vice versa. There is of course, the question of whether the attackers would have still been attacking, had an F-16 been dispatched to "buzz" them, an hour into the attack. But, that is mere speculation, and we will never really know for sure- at least if the White House has any say in the matter.
Never fear, Hillary Clinton informed Woods's father that the criminals who perpetrated the man caused unpleasantness which resulted in his son's tardiness* would be brought to justice. She dispatched agents to arrest the filmmaker who had insulted Mohammed and brought about this regretable but totally understandable incident.

the government lies and then they tell a larger whopper to cover the previous whopper and the media let's it all go. They cover with their secrecy and when it is discovered, the truth, usually no longer discovered by mainstream American media since they have been on the take and cronied up with the robber/killer class long ago, but if exposed no prob -- Obama either doesn't explain, shamelessly feels no obligation or respect to, or he tosses out more likely a bigger lie. And Hillary stammers something about, well the important thing is 4 people died. Which is rich considering all that are being killed. Not that it is not tragic that they died, but it is all so disingenuous of the "deciders" who put so many in harm's way and are exponentially creating so many enemies of America around the world and keeping those incredible death tolls and injury tolls and suicides even happening to insane degrees. best, libby
Fox News is doing the hourly reporting on the President watching real-time video (via drone) of the Benghazi consulate being overrun. No demonstrators against an anti Mohammed Youtube video on site. POTUSs apparently wandered off to bed in the middle of the showing, something about needing his beauty sleep for his Las Vegas trip in the morning.

Or watch Fox news
In any case, this looks to me to be the sort of thing that, should Obama win re-election, he will spend the rest of his term being "Hounded from Office" - whether he is in fact, hounded out or not.

To me this is the height of a violent Punch and Judy show, the puppeteer reserving the option of whether Punch or Judy takes the "Whacks" according to crowd approval, all the while his pickpockets cruise the crowd emptying pockets. This does feel like the same sort of "Blood Trail" that Watergate was. It will be "Exciting" to watch how this plays out. ( God, I'm tired of "Exciting" Politics)

Our diplomatic compound in Benghazi had been attacked nearly a dozen times before the attack in which our ambassador to Libya and three others in our foreign service were killed. After each attack, requests for additional security were sent to the State Department.
Both the British and the Red Cross had abandoned their nearby installations in Benghazi before the final attack on 11 September occurred. Their publically stated reasons for deserting their posts were the lack of in-country security, coupled with the frequent molestations of their installations.
To believe that it was impossible for this administration to have known anything is laughable denial. To believe that a well-coordinated, well-supported, seven-hour, heavy weapon attack of our compound, in which no mob was observed in real-time, was video criticism gone awry is another proof of the incompetence with which this administration handles America’s affairs and the lack of respect it has for its citizens.

this means I get to open and close the polls and referee disputes.

I'm not really angry at anyone voting for Obama, I'm just not sure what difference it makes. Presidential elections are like watching a Bullfight. In this case, I'm not sure whether we're watching two bulls or two Bull artists, but the Presidency has become an office with too much power that no one should be allowed to hold, because it is so obviously controlled. I just see the Benghazi incident as the first “Blood in the Water”, that will lead to Obama's impeachment, hould he be re-elected .
Feels like 1972 all over again.

I'm not at all a Romney fan
But I see a trail of blood leading into a thicket that contains a wounded bear
I don't think a Republican House will let this one go

There isn't any doubt in my mind that Obama watched in real time. If he did not, that is even worse.
We appear to have a choice between an empty suit, and a man filled with arrogance that allows him to kill and let die as he wishes. I'll take the empty suit, even knowing that both are simply distractions to watch while the puppeteers cronies pick the pockets of the crowd.

I've always appreciated Churchill's notion that if you are not a communist at 20, you have no heart,
If you are still a communist at 40, you have no brain
If you aren't a part of a community at 60
you have no future.
I love my community
I like to think it's possible to have both a heart and a brain.
That part is old information. I've known all that for weeks and I don't follow the news as closely as many here do.
So, Mark, what's your point?
That the President of the United States didn't authorize the use of enough force inside Libya? That would be new for you.
That there's a problem with my asking a friend for a link? Particularly when he mentions a video, which I assumed was available? Trust me, HRdR didn't take offense at my asking. I comment on all his posts and have for a long time.
That you think this scandal is going to get Jill Stein elected President? Tell me another bedtime story.
That you think we'll be oh so much better off with Romney, the guy who fell over himself in the last debate saying how much he approved of Obama's use of drones, how he would continue, and that if anything he's more inclined to intervene militarily overseas than Obama is?
Here, Mark, try this:

Well, if Romney is elected, at least you're safe in Okinawa. You don't have to be here.
Guess you're all bright eyed and bushy tailed to see the alliance of netanyahu and the despicable avigdor lieberman as the rogue nation continues the policy of death by a thousand self-inflicted wounds.
Worry not about your conscience, kosh, now that it is in safe-keeping within the immense emptiness of fRANK's vacant cranial cavity.
cuz i am a relativist and know all knowledge is,
uh, relative.
as long as he learned his lesson, as Mom said a man gotta do,
then i say what the hey!
Romney is far more likely to give Netanyahu carte blanche than Obama has. There have been all sorts of complaints to the Jewish community that Obama is not a friend of Israel, which he of course is. I know of the complaints because I've gotten loads of e-mails from Jewish friends saying exactly that, aside from what I hear on the news.
That you would mention Frank Apisa in this context is not surprising, given
1. That you're clearly obsessed with him, God only knows why, and
2. Your penchant for guilt by association, which is just a really cheap way to argue. I've grown to expect nothing better.
I don't know Frank very well. There are issues we disagree on. We happen to agree on this one. I could give you a long list of people on OS who agree with us on this issue, all of whom have far more influence on me than Frank does (he essentially has none and I assume I have none on him), but you of course go straight for Frank because it's what you do.
Hell, there are people who disagree with me on a lot who have way more influence on me than Frank does. Including our host.
No insult to Frank intended; we just don't tend to hang out in the same circles. Really no insult to Frank intended, particularly given that on this particular issue, he presents a more coherent case than you do.
