You Don't Say on Valentine's Day

Rate: 11 Flag

Image Detail

What do you say

when she asks

"how do I know

you love me?"

Don’t say

"I don’t.

I only love

your ass."

Don’t say

"You have to ask?"

She does.

She just did.

"You should know by now"

doesn’t work

simply because

she doesn’t.

"I’m still here

in the morning"

is much too snarky

for someone you love.

You live with her questions

her doubts and insecurities.

You try to help

but know you can’t.

You can no more assuage her doubt

than explain why a sock is lost

in the wash

or why the sky is blue.

"You will know I love you

when you leave me

watch me from afar

then you will know."

Hey, c'mon, didn't I give you $23 to spend all on yourself, just last month?

All joking aside - good one!
.
Just beautiful..
HUGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Smirky humor puts a smile on my face. Valentines Day sentiments have gotten a bit stale and commercialized for me, so this one was just the right amount of schmultz and sarcasm. Perfect!
Just perfect. You will know when you watch me miss you after you leave me for being a jerk. Oh YESsssss!

Rated. I must have missed the sarcasm, I thought it was romantic.

My snark has been laid to rest.
Maybe you could try walking through fire. Loved this.
I have a few friends whose husbands need to read this!
When you love someone, you don't wait for Valentines day to let him/her know.
She's watching....She knows.
