a song for Robin Sneed... and some farm animals

Rate: 27 Flag

I met Robin Sneed here on OS like we meet so many people. It was during the first wimmens pirate insurrection which happened as a result of me taking over OS for a weekend. Some may remember... it was a rough weekend for yours truly. I was eventually blogged into submission and had to defer to the power of the wimmens, which is maybe how the universe meant for it to be all along.

Then a while later I actually met Robin at Mary T Kelly's OS gathering in Boulder. I was the one that picked her up at her friends there and drove her to Mary and Nicks.. we then became "real" friends and hung at for hours in the tree house and partied with a bunch of cool OSers and Marys local friends. Joan Walsh had an emergency that came up and couldn't make it which made me cry but I digress.

Robin has had some hard times recently which precipitated a sudden move to South Dakota. She seems to be doing well there and enjoying herself at a hunting club (see her blog for details, it's a happenin' place).

I've had Robin on my mind and just wanted to say hello. Hi Robin! Many of you know Robin too and I invite you to leave a message or a hello here in comments. I'm pretty sure she'll see this, well, I'll make sure of it.

Robin, this songs for you... and I have some farm animals for ya too since you've been living on the farm and all.

Baby got goin' by Liz Phair

Baby got goin' on a southern train, you know
Fired up pistons drivin' below
And the whole vibration, seat upholstery
Silky underwear, oh conductor let's roll
Let's roll!

Baby got goin' but I can't complain, you know
It knocks me out when she acts so strange,
It's like a Big Mac truck cut across two lanes in my soul
Conductor, let's throw the pedal down, roll!
Let's roll!

Baby got goin' when the train kept a rollin'
Baby got goin' when the train kept a rollin'
Baby got goin' when the train kept a rollin'
Baby got goin' when the train kept a rollin'

Squeeze her knees underneath a book, you know
A real good shakin' is all it took
Cause my baby's hooked on me
And as you can see I'm wild about her!

She got goin' but I can't complain, you know
It knocks me out when she acts so strange
It's like a Big Mac truck cut across two lanes in my soul
Conductor let's throw some metal down, roll! Let's roll!

She gets mad when it goes too slow,
So I'm beggin' you man keep a-shovelin' that coal and let's roll!
Let's roll

I like the tree house baby. Contact high here.
Hi Robin!

This was a sweet thing to do, Trig. Are you feeling okay?

:P
You're so sweet!

Hi Robin! xoxoxo

I really wish I coulda met you & Robin and everyone else @ Mary's in August (I could have gone along with Pretend Farmer, but couldn't get out of work). Oh well, some other time...

xoxoxo for you too,
Oh, what a lovely post for Robin! She really deserves all good things in life and spirit.
I love the pygmie ponies, by the way.
Kisses!
Marcela
When I first met Robin, I think I upset her deeply with my (now sadly deleted) post about free will not existing. I followed her stuff, found out she was fantastically cool and now she gives me hugs and kisses!
Trig, this was very cool of you. I give you 10 non-refundable, permanent cool points!

Hey, Trig! What a lucky guy to spend time in the treehouse with Robin. That's a great way to make a friend!
Liz Phair and baby animals! You sweetie, you!
Except for a few comments on each to others site I don't know Robin, but she see seems like a good person. I hope everything works out for her. And You!
trig
you and robin are good people. I wish for Robin all the happiness she can find. Tree houses are indeed uplifting.
trig, what a true and good friend you are, to do this for robin. and how jealousing am i that i wasn't around then and at the treehouse? damn. it's huge. and farm animals now, too? she's gonna love this. and i'm sure she loves you, for good reason. and, of course, i love robin, like we all do. xoxoxo

rated for a thousand reasons, but especially the sweater animal.
Aww, Trig, you're a sweet guy.
Oh Hi... The farm animals I scnapped today out by my job in Eudora.

Thanks all. gotta go!
Don't even mention the wimmens pirate insurrection. The wounds have not healed.
And the wommen will rise again... and are growing in number on OS!

Hi Robin! Everyone loves you!
Lovely post Trig - but they're burros/donkeys!!! Cute none the less :)
I love Robin and I love Liz Phair, so this is the best of both worlds. Hi Robin!
a wonderful message for our wonderful Robin...
Robin is cool and I know she's been topsy turvy lately, but I thought she was just visiting the Dakotas. Has she moved there? Whoa.

Funky farm animals, hee haw.
Most excellent, trig!

And Robin - you know you're loved, wherever you are in the world.
I hope Robin sees this and it makes her happy. Loved the song and animals. Are you sure we're not related? A sweater animal? That's something I would say. I once mislaid the word "prey" while I was explaining some biological theory to my husband and the best I could do was "lunch animal." Sweater animal makes total sense to me.
Trig, this is wonderful and most fitting for beautiful Robin, who we all fell in love with this summer. Sitting for hours in that tree house bonded many of us, and I remember her telling you up there in the sky that you were a true poet at heart. You and Robin are both very special people.
I didn't know Robin had moved permanently. The one good thing about OS is it doesn't matter where you live.

Robin is just terrific and a swell writer. Thanks for putting this up here, Trig, and giving me -- and everyone else -- a chance to tell her that.
Thanks everyone... I just sent a link to Robin

Sirenita. Prey=Lunch Animal? LMAO

I wasn't sure if that animal was a llama or an alpaca (I'm thinking alpaca) so I thought sweater animal would work.

:)
Here's to Trig and Robin having better times!
I should add that I have no idea if Robin has moved to South Dakota or is just visiting. I guess I kind of implied a permanent move...
now what about this wimmens pirate insurrection?
Your heart is showin' Trig. Love that Robin Sneed. Nebraska better look out!
"Salut!" to you both. It makes me very excited as I am about to participate in my first OS meetup...yay. Thank you OH SO MUCH for your energy...both of you...dearly.
Oh, and Trig, I left you a return comment on my blog, I'll keep it shorter here. Is this a coincidence that you share the same name or an avatar? As a former Alaskan, I've been dying to know. If you don't want to answer, I understand. :)
I dont know Robin, but I do know this, Its nice to be liked, but its better by far to get paid.
Liz Phair is hot!!!!!!
Hi Robin!!

South Dakota ain't no North Dakota, but it's close.

:)
Trig, I'm floored! I just saw this....xoxxxxx.
You've got a big heart, mister.
You know I love Robin (and trigger, too;)
