I recently discovered yet another way to wile away the hours (that don’t really exist in the first place) while accomplishing nothing. Well, I suppose dreaming is not nothing and for those “creative” types there are plenty of ideas floating around Pinterest.
Those who know me know that I hate to cook and that I don’t consider myself very creative (and my three daughters will gladly attest to that), so I put off visiting this site for quite a while.
Middle daughter (only because she is 10 minutes older than youngest daughter) sent me an invite one day, so I ventured into the Pinterest world. And do you know what I discovered? Not that I was creative or that I suddenly wanted to cook every recipe that I saw…
But I discovered my daughter.
I found out things about my daughter that I didn’t know. There on her “boards” were her hopes and dreams. Her likes, her “style”, things she would like to accomplish and places she would like to go.
Our kids grow up so fast these days and, I’ll be the first to admit - I missed things. I missed a lot of things. I could say it was because I had three babies in two years, with a bad marriage – but that’s life. We all have “stuff”. Dealing with eating disorders and teenage angst (3 teenage girls/2 years apart); divorce and bankruptcy.
We are all mostly grown up now and that day on Pinterst gave me such a beautiful window into my daughter’s life.
This is her dream Wedding spot

and that she loved chandeliers

I didn’t know she would love to go to Venice one day

I did know that for some unknown reason, all my girls are afraid of birds.
But this posted on her page just made me laugh

So I realized that this Pinterest things wasn’t a waste of time after all.
Then I put together my own page. It gave me a little better insight into myself, I think. Got me to thinking about the things I’ve done, the places I’ve been and some things I havn’t accomplished yet.
Keeping dreams alive.
Then my daughter repinned some of my stuff:

Anything Clapton. -like mother like daughter :)
And I borrowed this quote from her:

Maybe it's not such a waste of time afterall.

Love that poster, I too dislike birds (they creep me out)

I adore Clapton too, but I do love birds.
Our kids are full of surprises, but it's good to keep on getting to know them.

I had better stay away - another site to keep me from going to be on time? No way.

I thought I wasting time reading blogs, then became a blogger. So it wasn't a waste of time. Though the pay still sucks.
btw...the bird picture cracked me up!
