Summer In Seattle

Rate: 25 Flag

Thanks Simple Shutterbug for the Open Call.

If it weren’t for these Gallery OC’s lately, I wouldn’t be posting anything.  And this one is interesting because just last week I was thinking that I havn’t done anything “summery” this summer.  No vacation (though one is coming in October), not even much sun.

Unlike most of the rest of you out there who have been sweltering this summer – the Pacific NW reached 90 degrees for the first time in 2 years!! And it lasted 3 days.  People were running out buying air conditioners like hot cakes.  (Also, unlike the rest of you out there not many of us have air conditioners).  Not worth it for those 3 days of summer we have.  Not complaining, no not complaining.

So last weekend I decided to do an inventory of the parks in my (new) neighborhood.  I moved since last summer because of the two new “you know who’s!” in my life.

We may not have much sun in the summer but we do have lots and lots of water, lakes, & beautiful places.

So, besides going to work every day & babysitting on a lot of Saturday nights, here are a couple of Summer in the Seattle Suburb pictures.

I would have been sitting in those chairs had it not been private property.

Let me go ask my wife if it is ok first though.....ok? :)

The babies you goob! I LOVE BABIES!!!!!! : )
Who are you calling a goob? I know what you meant (ha). But let me know what your wife says, ok?
She says "no give backs."
You'd be stuck with me I am afraid!
I want to live on that dock!
Lovely spot in summer you have -- although you'll have the hordes trampling to the NW!! Ssshhhhhh!!!! : )
The babies are continually adorable, glad all's well your way~
Just Thinking: I don't think you are that far from me, are you?
Not too far, but not so close it's cloudy or only 90. : )
Southern Oregon.
I want to get up there sometime, but haven't gotten away at all this summer...
Haven't been to Seattle in long time, and am due - my older daughter lives there. Hmm, still have some photos from last visit tho - must post. Not from summer, but winter there's not bad either...
I love those thing 1 and 2 onsies. I'd love to see more Seattle pictures. I have never been there.
I've only visited Seattle once and it was a few years ago--but I loved it! Beautiful photos and the babies are adorable.
Trilogy, so true one of the best dates, they are so beautiful!! Thank you for bringing Seattle in here, I only have known the city through the movie ''Sleepless in Seattle'' and your images show a beauty I never knew. The babies are a true miracle!!! Rated.

The "you know who's" are my favourite bubbas in the whole wide world at the moment! You can't show me too many pictures of those adora-bubbles!!!

Great photographs, great babies, great post.

Beautiful photos, especially the last one! R.
Go to Chism Beach in Bellevue, trilogy. You can sit on the dock there! Gorgeous. I miss summer in Seattle big time.
Trilogy, thanks so much for sharing your "Summer in Seattle" , loved seeing the water and the flowers and your little "you know who's" are just adorable.
Thing 1 and Thing 2... Cutest "Things" I've seen in a very long time! ~r
I loved this posting. One of my two sisters raised her kids in Kirkland and now one of those kids lives with her own family in Bellevue, where I visit them from time to time. I also sit with the pets when the family is on vacation. Will post about that next. Here in the San Juans we, of course, had the same weather you did. The best weather week all summer was when my son and grandson visited, which was great.
Little Kate: i can probably email you some video if you like. they are crawling & pulling themselves up now. The first year of life is so, so amazing. Being a grandma actually gives you the time to watch it and enjoy it. I had twins & a 2 yr old all at one time.
Thanks Scylla & Deborah. glad you enjoyed.
Emily: Chism Beach - havn't been there in years. thanks for the reminder.
Shutterbug: thanks for the motivation.
Joan: Right?
It's beautiful there, I've never been but it reminds me of the Bay Area where I grew up, I love the cool wildness of the beaches there. Hmmm, we seem to have the same wonderful dating scene. God they are adorable, hahaha, do those shirts say Thing 1 & Thing 2? It seems just weeks ago they were little, how old are they now?
Yes. Bleue - Thing 1 and Thing 2. My daughters (also twins) have tattoos on their thigh that say "Twin 1 and Twin 2".
8 months old this week! Best dates in the world, right?
OMG Trilogy- they are adorable and scene stealers. Who cares about nature when you have those two waiting at home for you?
Your photos are gorgeous and it looks like you have some time away from the babies which you are making the most of. Hope you have had a good summer because fall is approaching fast!
Love the babies first, of course! But then the water shots with those insanely purple flowers. And the sail against the hazy sky. Terrific view! It's like I could come for a visit. Yea!
@ Tril: YES PLEASE!!!! Really? Could you? Would you?

I would LOVE to see those little adorabubbles in action!
Great pictures! I miss Seattle, such a great city in the shadow of those beautiful Cascades. Thanks for the pictures; it appears to me you've had a summer well spent.
never been there. looks inviting. :)
It is such a beautiful place. Thank you./r And those babies are so adorable.
Loved this! Thank you.
Gerri! So good to see you back.
niles - thanks - glad you liked them
Hawley - missed you back there. I forgot you lived in the San Juans. Now that's one of the most beautiful places in the world!
Smithery: Good to see you! Yes, a summer well spent.
BD: You should visit some time.
