Because being drunk is an excuse for everything...
Now, don’t get me wrong. I know parenting is the hardest job in the world, but come on. Even I, as someone who has no children, knows that it is just plain wrong to tattoo your three-year-old kid.
A Georgia father recently tattooed “DB” for “Daddy’s Boy” (hold your laughter ‘til the end, please) on the shoulder of his 3-year-old son and has been sentenced to one year’s probation and fined a whopping $300 since it is illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18 in Georgia.
The tattoo was discovered when state workers from the Department of Family and Children Services made a home visit. The father, Eugene Ashley, 26, explained to police that he was drunk and didn’t even remember tattooing the letters. He is (clearly) no longer allowed to have contact with his child. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of tattooing a minor.
The district attorney called the case “egregious”, but the judge was questioning the ruling.
