Follow the syntax of the code in white to put a link in comments. Don't forget the quotations marks or to close the tags with the less than and greater than keys.
So, this is my problem with html etc., href, how intuitive is that? last page on internet Or if you use Firefox, copy link as HTML and you will not have to remember the chicken scratch.
I hear you Stella. It's not intuitive, but it's like any other language and once you know it, you know it. I like your "copy as HTML" idea, but I still think it's a good idea to know the syntax just in case.
Stephanie, I'm not sure what you're asking, so let me guess. Yes, you put the full URL in the quotes, and the text that goes between (as in my example) LINK TO SALON will be the text that the URL is attached to. You are making the text LINK TO SALON the live link, if that makes sense. You are activating text with hidden code that is the a href=url. Let me know if I just made it worse. :)
stella, lol. html is maddening, and href is about the stupidest single bit.
where do i find "copy link as HTML," though. i didn't know about that, and don't see it when i right-click. i'd LOVE something to do it for me, because i can remember the href part but never the combination of the a= and where the quote marks go and all the rest.
resistanceisfutile: the syntax is very exacting. You just have to be sure to close your brackets and your quotations marks. Then you're good to go. It's basic html. Glad it worked for you!
Undertow, this worked out perfectly thank you for this.
Can you refer me to how to do a link in the post itself? I did look at Rob's post on it but it's way too complicated for me, yours was much easier to understand so I thought you might have written on how to link in the post itself but i can't find it. thanks
Buffy, you have to copy the link exactly. I see you didn't use the underscore between words in your comment. Try copying and pasting instead of typing. It should work.

the link I want to post should go in between the quotation marks which I put in? And type the rest of this in as well but then delete the also?
Sorry, pretty dense here.
Thanks so much for this.
rated and needed!

Anyhoo... I'm going to test it here. Thanks.
