I realized the other day I hadn't written an OS post in several months. That's the way it is with me--I get very enthusiastic for a while and then I get a kind of clutching anxiety about what exactly constitutes an acceptable kind of post and so I write nothing. I still read, I often rate, and there are many times when I read and leave no trail.
I have dreams about the posts I'd like to write. Alas, right now I'm all thought, no action.
Tonight I read an excellent post that almost none of you saw, so I want to highlight it here. I guess the days of the reader-sponsored editorial list have ebbed; this is my mini-version.
Robert Brenner has written about the unsung heroes of the demolition of our old obscenity laws. You know about Grove Press, but do you know anything about Greenleaf? This post I'm recommending is concise-yet-thorough and has witty interludes in italics. Whether you're a literary history buff or just like good writing, this is the post for you.
