Wood Betony. Also called Lousewort because it was thought that cattle got lice if they ate this plant. I just discovered this one. It is so lovely.

Violet

Yellow Goatsbeard. This is a morning flower that closes before noon.

Dandelion seedhead. American yards would be so much prettier if we considered the dandelion a blessing instead of a scurge. The leaves are edible and the seedhead is gorgeous. Think of the money we'd save on herbicides and how much cleaner our water would be if we just let them be. Enjoy them, America.
