John Brown’s grave near Lake Placid, New York. John Brown was an American abolitionist who fought pro-slavery forces in 1856 in Bleeding Kansas. John Steuart Curry’s mural of John Brown, which is located in the Kansas State Capitol, was on the cover of my grade school Kansas History book.
