Beauty remains. Enjoy...

Hanging on.  A cheap metaphor for those of us unemployed, before the terminations, when we were desperattely hanging on. For almost one year now, I've been on the ground.

face

Stick Face. You may not be able to tell, but this plastic & hollow jack-o-lantern hangs on a small dead tree limb stuck in the ground. I love this guy. He is about a quarter mile down our road.

Sun & water & leaves.

Dedicated today for June Allen, an environmental health advocate and my dear friend, who just died, and has to be in heaven if there is one. According to a book I just read (Fannie Flagg's Can't Wait to Get to Heaven), our gods are named Neighbor Dorothy and Raymond.

WOW! Great shots. I like the pumpkins on the mailboxes. Around here they wouldn't last long, hell, the mailboxes don't last long either.
Around here they would be gone in 6 minutes. they shot an inflated Frosty the snowman this year.

Thank you Sheba, the photos were balm for my heart. I'm so sorry about your friend, I feel God in my heart and I know he loves those who love each other and the gift of the earth. I don't have any ideas about heaven, I just know about Love.

I'm glad you had a friend like that. Love and warmth to you.
Beautiful dedication to your friend. Fall is a briefly lived majestic season. ~R
Lovely photos. Thank you. -R-
Sheba, a beautiful photo essay! Some of the woodland scenes with the stonewalls and the stream remind me of the woods here which have turned color but still have more leaves on the trees due to the more southerly location. I send my sympathies to you regarding the loss of your friend, June Allen.
Sheba, I can smell the carpet of leaves. Beautiful forest. May your dear friend, June Allen, rest in peace.
oh this is beautiful. My favorite season...followed close by spring...love beginnings and endings... extending gentle thoughts for your friend.
wonderful fotos. My daughter went to Bennington for a year. Grate beets directly into the salad to avoid stains.
So very sorry about the loss of your dear friend.

Thank you for sharing these pictures at this wonderful, melancholy, full-of-hope time of year.
Sympathy and sincere condolences during the passing of your dear friend in autumn...
